Still, the larger point is that Hillary is not doing as well among women voters as would have been expected a month ago and Trump is surviving among Republican women better than expected. Since women will provide well over half the vote in 2016, decoding how they make decisions is critical to both sides.

So, what is going on among women voters? What seems clear is that Hillary is trying to appeal to women in an old-fashioned way that doesn't work as well as it once did. Her team apparently thinks that by aggressively selling hard facts, advancing policies or giving her version of the email controversy, Hillary's campaign will have women flocking to her banner.

Clinton's eroding favor with women may also be tied up in their investment in her as standard bearer. Women I talk with of both parties definitely want to be a driving force in electing the first woman to the White House, but they also want the "right" woman -- not a politician who happens to be a woman. A recent Quinnipiac poll showing that 57% of all voters believe that she is not honest and trustworthy, and a Fox poll finding that 58% think she is lying about the emails, should be setting off alarm bells at Clinton headquarters in Brooklyn. .......

As bizarre as it may seem, Hillary Clinton might take a page from his (i.e.,Trump's) book: Many women find it refreshing when they are told a straight story and are left to draw their own conclusions. "Here I am. I have nothing to hide. It's up to you to decide if you like me or not."

A thought: One thing that most Americans avoid being labeled if they can is “racist”. Obama and the rats used and continue to use that concept to their advantage. Thus if you did not vote for or like his policies, you are clearly a racist. On the other hand, most wouldn't like being labeled a “sexist”, but the label doesn't carry the weight that “racist” holds. Hillary is depending on being able to use the gender card this presidential election but fewer are finding a need to bow to PC pressure this time around.

The women I know lean conservative, so not the best sample.

However, every single one will not support Hillary. All would like to see a woman president someday, just not Hillary. They would not vote for Hillary just to see a woman president.

Again, not the best sample, but these women oppose Hillary based on politics. They are judging her as they would judge any male liberal radical Alinskyite running for office.

In 2008, the rush to elect the "first black President" was so great that the vast majority of the voting public did not stop to ask whether BHO was the one everyone would want to remember as the FBP. I think the rush to elect the FWP is not as great: there is a sense in the public that FWP will occur soon enough, perhaps even in 2016, and it doesn't have to be Hillary! who fills the heeled pumps.
