How Eisenhower solved illegal border crossings from Mexico
By John Dillin JULY 6, 2006
Save for later WASHINGTON George W. Bush isn't the first Republican president to face a full-blown immigration crisis on the US-Mexican border. Fifty-three years ago, when newly elected Dwight Eisenhower moved into the White House, America's southern frontier was as porous as a spaghetti sieve. As many as 3 million illegal migrants had walked and waded northward over a period of several years for jobs in California, Arizona, Texas, and points beyond. President Eisenhower cut off this illegal traffic. He did it quickly and decisively with only 1,075 United States Border Patrol agents less than one-tenth of today's force. The operation is still highly praised among veterans of the Border Patrol.

US-Mexico Free Trade: US jobs go South, Mexican crimals come North.
Of course some of those former American jobs were Canadian jobs before the 1987 FTA between Canada and the US.
Global ‘free trade’ only works to the advantage of the banksters and HUGE multinationals. Eisenhower had it right with his warning about the ‘military-industrial’ complex, though it might be better described as the ‘bankster-industrial’ complex. Too much power focused in too few hands, the hands of the elite banksters, multi-nationals and politicians of ALL stripes. Perhaps the ‘tin foil hat’ crowd, and their fear of the ‘Bilderburgers’ and the ‘NWO’ were not paranoid, merely prophetic!
Put a bounty out on them too.
I need some jingle in my pocket and if a bunch of illegals know that a bunch of mad Texans are on their trail they are going to vaaaamuuuus.
e-verify would be one way to get voter identification for EVERYBODY. If one of us needs it, we ALL must have it.
No cushy jet flights. Slow boats over rough water. Make it uncomfortable enough that any thought of repeating is outweighed by the misery.
Yes, it’s tough. But if you think it’s too tough, immediately stop the butchering of unborn children!
Incentivize them to go back home, or go on welfare? It only works if we STOP ALL GOVERNMENT HANDOUTS TO ILLEGALS.
CUT OFF ALL WELFARE AND SCHOOLING and FINE EMPLOYERS!!! Hello??? Not that hard!!!
The national government has no constitutional authority in those areas. Elections, birth documentation, identification and suchlike are local and state affairs.
What's illegal about it, every business has to have those documents on every employee, it's the law?
e-verify is Federal, is it not? Once everyone has an accepted positive ID card, it can easily be used for ID at the polls. I’m confident that Trump is no more fond of unlawful voters than he is of unlawful residents. He’ll deal with it.
If you want to rely on penalties than admit that many legal immigrants (or Reagan legalized aliens) are happy to house and abet illegals here simply because the life is easier here and they can send money home to help build the family finca...after all, it worked for the last round of invaders.
Penalties should be extended to ANY US citizen or legal resident aiding or abetting the invaders in the same manner as employers should be penalized for hiring illegals.
Of course, we also need a wall, surveillance, and armed troops along our southern border.
BUT, once the southern border is tightened up it will be necessary to ramp up efforts on the northern border because terrorists and smugglers will exploit our one truely friendly border.
I’d love to get a letter of marque. That was an absolutely brilliant idea.
You mean “Operation Wetback”?????
The feds don’t run elections, and we don’t want them to.
We don’t want them in charge of identification either.
They have no constitutional authority in those areas.
The idea of the feds having the power to control whether or not you, an American citizen, can work and earn your daily bread should frighten and anger you. It’s a gross, un-American breach of the most fundamental and necessary liberties endowed to us by God.
Few seem to have thought this through.
Yeah. That’s always the first thing people say when I point out how bad E-Verify is. But it’s a non sequitur.
The only list of We the People authorized by our Constitution is the census head count every ten years. And that shouldn’t even have names attached, unless the individual citizen wants to give it. Just a head count. That’s it.

Wow...so a person with the User Name “EternalVigilance” is a proponent of NO VIGILANCE. So, I guess you’re all in for LET THE INVASION CONTINUE UNABATED.
You mean to put a wall down the middle of the Rio Grande?? A good project for the WPA.
Just a thought.
