Real estate mogul Donald Trump said on Sunday he is not intimidated by Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, given his fellow GOP presidential candidates handling of the Badger State.
Well, Im not worried because his state is really in trouble, Trump told host George Stephanopoulos on ABCs This Week.
I mean, its a fantastic place, he said. I love the people of Wisconsin, but if you look at whats going on, they have a $2.2 billion deficit. They were supposed to have a surplus of $1 billion and they have $2.2 billion.
Theres tremendous divisions throughout the state, Trump added. He stopped a lot of work because he didnt want to raise taxes. So instead of raising taxes, hes borrowing to the hilt and his state is overleveraged.
Trump then argued Walkers handling of Wisconsin is proof he would fare no better managing the U.S.
His state has not performed well, he said. We need someone whos going to make it perform well, this country perform well.
Im the one to do it, the outspoken billionaire added. And people are seeing it and it is being reflected in the polls.
Trumps remarks come as he leads the race for the 2016 GOP presidential nomination across multiple national samplings.
He additionally mocked Walker on Sunday for trying to emulate his positions.
Scott Walker has changed his mind now, because he keeps going to his pollster, and his pollster says, Oh, Trump has a good idea, Trump has a bad idea, oh no, wait a minute, Trump has a good idea, Trump said.
These people dont know what theyre doing, George, Trump told Stephanopoulos. Theyre politicians.
Yep, and it hasn’t resulted in any tax increases since the economy is doing better under Walker and overall tax receipts are up and my taxes are down, down, down as Walker keeps cutting them.
Again people who do not live here and buy this Trump nonsense about Walker being a prolifigate tax and spender who can’t balance a budget need to get a grip.
Before Walker became Governor, he was Milwaukee County Executive in a big D County and turned that tax and spend mess around also.
Again, you can not like Walker for his lack or charisma or being squishy on immigration. But this other nonsense just makes Trump look stupid.
In the end you have to ask yourself do you want Walker taking the 3:00 AM phone call?
——Whats silly is to comb through data and cherry pick the good stuff.
Whats silly is for a Presidential candidate and his lemmings to say, as a blanket statement, that Walker destroyed schools as was done above.
I dont think the ACT scores are ‘cherry picked’, thats a pretty solid and continuous metric. The education unions in Wisconsin hate Walker with the hate of a thousand suns and they will say he ‘destroyed the schools’ until they die. I just dont expect anyone other than trolls to take up their cause here at Free Republic.
Uh huh. Well I did not say that. I said there are positives that are near impossible to counter about Walker. Maybe smart to highlight those. Or not
..
-—Uh huh. Well I did not say that.
Yes, and I did not accuse you saying it. That was said above, for example the execrable and nearly incoherent post 66.
”it sounds like Trump is right on schools and Walker totally screwed them up, and Walker is totally in favor of Common Core
Which I countered with Walkers line item veto of Common Core in the last budget as well as our continued high performance on ACTs and small gains in reading levels.
It would be great to say that Walker has performed an education miracle but his reforms will take more time. It is contemptible to say that he has done damage like posters (who are spouting union-nonsense) above have. This kind of untruth must not go uncountered.
George Will (democrat) supports walker, and his wife works for him. LMAO
