he found the Kalashnikov he was carrying in a park near the Gare du Midi rail station in Brussels where he was in the habit of sleeping.

Wow, what a coincidence, I found an AK-47 too the other day on a stroll, just laying there.

On a serious note, do you see where this BS defense might lead to?

Hopefully this BS defense will lead right to a life sentence on Devil’s Island.

If the Mooslim was that hungry, why didn’t he rob the dining car? Your quiche or your life! Or stay in Amsterdam the extra five minutes needed to sell the AK and ammo? How did starving boy afford a ticket? Who paid for his trip to Syria and back? What line of “work” was he in?

I wager this weasel is a heroin trafficker who samples the goods (”sick and malnourished”). Amsterdam has been infested with these North African dope flies for decades.

If my web skills are up to snuff, here is a photo of the aforementioned attorney:

looked weak and malnourished ...wanted to rob People for food...

I believe it, Muslim food is commonly eaten with a Box cutter.
He was so hungry he even carried Utensils

If he was hungry he could have sold the AK, the handgun, and the ammunition.

Problem with saying terrorist is malnourished and thin because there are pictures of him where he is not.

You know you’ve got problems when the best defense your lawyer can come up with is that you were trying to rob people.

..and all this could have been avoided if they just would have thrown him out the window.

This has to be a first.
They’re actually using armed robbery as a defense.

You said it was terrorism. I didn't say it was terrorism.

Watch the French indict our guys. Nothing would surprise me.

Actually, he was trying to help the passengers on that train. They were going toward France, and ... well ... it's FRANCE, for cripes' sake.

Now granted, that defense isn't likely to get him far in a French court, but it's every bit as logical as the one being proposed.

Over at the Daily Mail UK (what a great news site!), several commenters pointed out that the claimed “robbery” is a cover story that the jihadis are trained to use if they are caught.

“What Terror? Train Gunman Wanted to Rob People, Lawyer Says”

Lamest defense ... ever ...

It’s all spelled out below what exactly that guy was; he’d been on the terrorist radar of multiple agencies from multiple European countries for years:

Yes, he just wanted to rob people - of their lives.

After we try and execute the terrorist, stand his “lawyer” up against a wall and shoot him.

Don’t the French strip collaborators naked, shave their heads, and parade them in the street?
