The defense secretary has an incredible opportunity to usher in the end of legalized sex discrimination in the military.
As tens of thousands of women have proved over 13 years of war in Iraq and Afghanistan, women are capable of the combat skills necessary to fight alongside their male counterparts. The question now is whether to give women the opportunity to compete for coveted combat arms assignments, such as infantry and special forces.
Since the Pentagon formally rescinded the combat exclusion policy in 2013, well over 100 women have successfully passed the Marine Corps’ enlisted infantry school and two female officers will graduate from the Army’s elite Ranger School this week — debunking three long-held cultural myths: that women don’t want these jobs, they are mentally and physically too weak for these jobs, and training standards have to be lowered for women to do these jobs.
But as of yet, none of these female warriors can legally be assigned to infantry or other combat arms billets for which they have proved themselves qualified. It’s like surviving the trials of medical school and being told you can’t be a doctor.
Defense Secretary Ashton Carter needs to ensure the following happens going forward if he wants integration efforts to create a stronger fighting force:

Anyone with real, actual combat experience knows full well that women would be a distraction and failure points within a combat unit. It seems as though retiring to a 7-figure income is far more important than winning wars and keeping your troops alive.
There are no men in Washington. The rest of the country is fine.
There is no problem filling billets—all branches are turning recruits away. This “issue” is 100% a political mandate. Women already have significant advantages in the military, but the combat distinction has stymied the liberals until now. All stops are off, and this last bastion of masculinity must be abolished before he leaves.

The question I would ask is...if your son or daughter is at risk which gender rescuer would you pick!!!!
Did she ever marry? Did she ever have any children? She sounds a lot like a Rosie O'Donnell-type.
Women with that personality type are not necessarily gay. Some women are athletic, competitive, aggressive, etc. Labeling that behavior in a woman as “gay” does them a great disservice, as does labeling effeminate men as “gay”.

When you’re facing insane Jihadists out in the field, or you’re pinned down by covering fire, or one of hundreds of other really ugly situations that come in combat, you’re not going to get out of it by whining about how unfair it is, right? Screaming about sexual harassment and ‘war on women’ isn’t going to get you out of that situation, except in a very terminal way.
Maybe there are some women willing and able to deal with that, and also to seriously kick some ass too. But none of the girls who I’ve seen complaining about being excluded from combat are those kind of women. All of my personal experiences have shown me that the people insisting on women in combat think that whining is an effective strategy.
You're right. Some lesbians are going to go to court to make it so that the govt can force women into combat, but women shouldn't allow this to be done to them. Most women don't want to be men. This is just more LGBT garbage. There is nothing about the LGBT movement that is good for society, and it should be suppressed.

For women, the new standard is “skeletal” & they’re mating with “metrosexuals” to produce offspring born waving a white flag of surrender & suckling from the flabby teats of emaciated mothers in their forties, associate professors at some Ivy League “university”, already tenured and not far from retirement to a career “publishing” a load of sex-change crap in some “journal” or the other. - I’m so darned confused (& FAT by today’s “standards”) that I just want to quit; but don’t intend to do so, Lord willing.

Let’s get it over with once and for all. Let the women enlist, or be drafted into the military, let them fill the ranks completely. Send them off to war and see how well they do.

How about we require NOBODY to register for the draft ? A free country doesn't need a slave army. The volunteer army avoids many ethical issues - like involuntary servitude. When I was in (volunteer in the seventies) the draftees always resented it.

Yeah, you’re right. She killed twice as many, mostly officers, as well as over two dozen other snipers, in a city under siege by a vastly superior force. Really no comparison.
