GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump reminds us about deserter Bowe Bergdahl, who the president traded for several prisoners from Guantanamo Bay.
CHRIS HAYES, MSNBC: Just so we're clear here, Sergeant Bergdahl is not being prosecuted for treason, he is prosecuted for desertion. The Army prosecutor is planning on presenting no evidence that six people died in looking for Sergeant Bergdahl.

But I think Trump ought not to be saying such things — because if he is elected POTUS, Bergdahl’s lawyers might have good grounds for an appeal, on the basis of something like command influence.
I’ll take that trade. A Trump/Cruz administration in return for Bergdahl getting off. Not ideal, but pretty good. Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good.

Although Mr. Hayes “corrected” Trump by saying that that Sergeant Bergdahl is not being prosecuted for treason, Trump didn’t say anything about treason. Trump just calls Bergdahl a traitor.
