It's a quote from Ronald Reagan's favorite president Calvin Coolidge. But oft-misquoted passage is used by the left to discredit the man as a tool of crony capitalists. The full passage is far more involved and speaks truly of the American spirit:
After all, the chief business of the American people is business. They are profoundly concerned with producing, buying, selling, investing and prospering in the world.
