Thanks to the influence of the fine FReepers here, notably wardaddy and onyx (both of whom I pinged as a courtesy), my opinion of Donald Trump has been elevated. Initially, I wasn't confident that a brash New Yorker could embrace the values of the real America. But his support throughout the South is definitely making me believe that he's genuine.
As for the musical choices for his introduction and exit, I personally would have preferred old-time, hard-core Country (Roy Acuff, Ernest Tubb, Webb Pierce and Kitty Wells) or Christian Southern Gospel instead of what sounded like acid rock to these 70+ year-old ears. But on that score, I doubt I represent what people from the Gulf Coast like nowadays, particularly the younger set. So if that's my only quibble with how the Trump campaign does things, then it's a minor matter indeed! :)
You gotta have Sweet Home Alabama. It would be sacrilegious not to.
