DEVELOPING: NFL Team Makes HUGE Stand … Says It Will Relocate Before Surrendering To Liberals

Redskins President Bruce Allen says the team will not change their name even if it prevents them from getting a new stadium, CBS Sports reported.
If changing the name Redskins would get them a new stadium, should the team change their name? one radio host asked another.
The flustered commentator responded, Wait
again?
The host then rephrased the question: Their team president says they will not change their name
should they do it?
No
theyre not changing their name, the commentator said with certainty.
This came as no surprise as the team has been asked several times if they will change their name and logo, which depicts a Native American man with dark red skin and a feather in his hair.
The team, not willing to bow to the politically correct agenda, has refused time and time again and this threat of not getting a new stadium does not seem to affect President Bruce Allens stance on the issue.
It is always refreshing to see someone standing for what they believe in and getting the support they need. As the host and commentator discuss, they dont need the public money for the stadium and at the moment, there is not a need for a change of venue.
If that ever becomes the case, the will see about it then but based on who Bruce Allen is, I dont see him ever backing down on this issue.

Rename them the Reagans and have a new mascot, the Gipper.
Good idea.
Along the same line, perhaps the ownership should stay in Washington, and rename the team: "The Washington Conservatives".
Liberal minds would explode.

Well, if the Washington Redskins relocate that will automatically get rid of the disreputable part of their name.

Move them to Richmond, change the colors to grey, and call them the Richmond Rebels. And plant a Confederate flag right on their helmet.
The liberals would lose their shit. And I'd buy season tickets.

You might be younger than me, but the original Washington Senators left in 1961 and became the Minnesota Twins. A few years later, the American league expanded and issued a new franchise in Washington who took the name Senators. They lasted for a while and then moved to Texas and became the Rangers. Now they have the team from Montreal.. We'll see how long that lasts.

Google Lafayette Escadrille.
Maybe DC would prefer one of the original Redskins insignia??

I don't remember the Original Senators, but I do remember the "new" expansion team Senators, also when they became the Rangers. The current Nationals were formerly the Montreal Expos, they were the first MLB team in Canada.

Texas has 2 NFL teams already. Florida has 3, California has 3, but none in Los Angeles. Thats where the next expansion team will be........... It almost was, back when the Texans were organized. Houston city bonzes were hot to trot and ready to go ..... the NFL was waiting for an LA group to get their poop in a group and named a figure of $750,000,000 as their "franchise fee" (go-away money, get-lost offer) that they wanted from Houston to let the franchise go there instead of LA, which they really coveted for its lush advert demographics and numbers.
Surprisingly, the Texans bunch came up with the $750 mill, and after some dawdling and dallying waiting on the LA group, the NFL very reluctantly awarded the franchise to Houston ...... which was, after all, merely the FOURTH largest city in the US with only about 4,000,000 people in its SMSA.
If LA gets an NFL franchise someday, the Angelenos should name the team "the Oaxacans" or just "the Mexicans" to reflect the demo the NFL will really have bought. They'll wish they'd dumped American football for soccer, so they could milk those Mexifornians, and keep American football up north in the Bay Area.

God Bless the truly patriotic, principled stand by the Redskin ownership.
Restores some faith in the integrity of the NFL amid serial, sordid Patriot cheating scandals.
Bravo.

Why the heck do the Redskins need a new stadium? The one in PG County is a good location and not that old. What is it with teams wanting new stadiums every 10-15 years anyway? If they do, let them buy the land and build it themselves, withOUT any taxpayer dollars involved.

I think I heard that the lease for the stadium land runs out in 2027 and they don’t need a new stadium now.
