Donald Trump's campaign stop in Mobile could prompt a venue change as more people have registered for tickets online than what the Civic Center's Theater can hold, a SMG official said Wednesday.
Bob Brazier, general manager of the Mobile Civic Center and the Arthur R. Outlaw Mobile Convention Center, said "it appears" the attendance during Trump rally "will outgrow" the theater's 1,950 capacity.
"We're looking at everything right now," Brazier said about a rally originally scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday inside the theater. "We're preparing like we might have to move it."
The move likely won't be far. Brazier said there are discussions from the Trump campaign about utilizing the Civic Center Arena in addition to seating an overflow of people in the theater and expo hall. Combined, the entire facility can hold up to around 14,000 people.
Brazier said he isn't sure how many tickets have been issued through Eventbrite.com. He said the coordination is being handled by the Trump campaign.

Trump is starting to remind me of a character in a show, that the more outrageous and outspoken the character becomes, the MORE fondness it breeds in the audience for that character.
Trump is very good at that without even trying.
I think it's called.. "BEING YOURSELF."
Found out this morning that the venue is now Ladd Stadium. Not sure about going now as that’s not in the best part of town.....A friend of mine has been working with his people and suggested he land in the mid-field in his helicopter but they can’t get it down here from NY soon enough. She thinks he’s going to do a fly-over and wing tip in his plane.
I agree! Thanks for the kind words about my hometown.
Is there safe parking? I generally don’t let bad neighborhoods stop me but I understand not everyone feels the same.
Once the lot fills up - and it does pretty quickly - the neighboring houses fills their yard with vehicles for about $20/car. There’s no rhyme or reason to the parking so you may come out to leave and be blocked in. I’ve quit going to the Senior Bowl - and that’s held during the day. They had over 30,000 requests for tickets but my brother thinks a number will back out due to the new location.
Oh, well. They may be broadcasting it.
“Its history and a fascinating history that I happen to love but weve GOT to move on. “
Move on to what?
I see the South’s remembering CWI as an anti-Big Government statement. The feds were vicious to the South during reconstruction. And the mistrust of government has been pervasive ever since.
And that’s a good thing!
