CNN)Two women are about to make history by becoming the first female soldiers to graduate from the Army's exhausting Ranger School.

They're among the 96 students who will graduate from the intensive training program Friday in Fort Benning, Georgia.

This was the first year the Army opened the course to women on a trial basis.

"This course has proven that every Soldier, regardless of gender, can achieve his or her full potential," Secretary of the Army John M. McHugh said in a statement.

Make sure you read the comments at the end of the article to see how real soldiers feel about Barry and the feminization the US military.

“Most Ranger School officer graduates never serve in a Ranger unit either. It’s a leadership school - useful in a broad variety of leadership positions”.

Obama has never attended a Ranger graduation in his miserable life. He’ll be front and center for this one, along with 40 other lib groups that actually think woman can compete women in Special Ops. A pipe dream. Barry has demolished the US military and it will take 50 years to undue the damage this SOB has caused.

Bottom line is those two slots were stolen by those who weren't eligible to apply.

“Already said the gals won’t be assigned to a Ranger battalion because of this little thing that you have to be MOS 11B (infantryman), which is still closed to females.

So how will they put all that Ranger training to use?”

There were many soldiers with Ranger tabs when I was in that never served in a Ranger battalion. The vast majority were officers. The vast majority of enlisted men with Ranger tabs did serve in a Ranger battalion.

No females in combat roles period, in any shape or form, it’s morally wrong and morally bankrupt to do so.

The Army called Ranger School “The Army’s Premier Leadership School”.

The Liberals came back with, “Don’t you want to develop leadership in females?”

Game. Set. Match.

My addendum to your comment stands. The Army “leadership” didn’t fight off the feminazis because they are totally ok with it, not because they dropped the argument ball.

I rest my case. As noted elsewhere, that Ranger tab is for some a career enhancer & nothing more.

True, but they still had to pass the course. Don’t get me wrong, those officers earned their tabs.

Bingo!

I've had mixed feelings about this for a while, but now here are my opinions.

The Army has been saying LEADERSHIP LEADERSHIP LEADERSHIP! about literally everything for years, especially Ranger School.

Just look at the two female officers that just graduated: one is a helicopter pilot, the other is an MP. Why do pilots and military police need to go to freaking RANGER SCHOOL?

L E A D E R S H I P ! ! ! !

Ranger School is 99% LIGHT INFANTRY SQUAD AND PLATOON TACTICS AND PATROLLING.

Instead of focusing on young enlisted squad and platoon level leaders, Ranger School has been for decades an Infantry Lieutenant school primarily and secondarily other-officers-that-want-a-Ranger-Tab-school. In all my years in the Army, I've seen merely a handful of NCOs with a Ranger Tab.

Also, it's most certainly a career enhancing school. Try being an Infantry officer in the Army without a Ranger Tab. You'll be sidelined. No question about it. There are units that REQUIRE you to have a Ranger tab just to be assigned there. If you happen to get unlucky and get assigned there anyway, you'll be given every crap job available and your career will be torpedoed.

Officers in the Army stop being squad and platoon level leaders at about the 3 year mark. NCOs can stay at the platoon level their entire careers.

The Army has been sending the WRONG people for the WRONG reasons to Ranger School for decades.

Spot on assessment. Part of that Leadership School reasoning being used over time is that the Ranger Course is resource intensive. It costs $$$$$ to operate the course(aircraft/multiple training bases/training ammunition/meals, etc...) and those dollars come out of the TRADOC pie. MACOMs pay the school seat bill in order to offset costs, so the more school seats available across Big Army, the softer the financial blow is to TRADOC. The more school seats, the more classes. The more classes, the easier it is to justify the course and its costs. Ain't bureaucracy grand? This is why the course description in ATRRs is written the way it is and why Big Army has allowed it to occur. The feminazis have used this as their way in and the Army has decided in their favor against all evidence that doing so weakens unit effectiveness and combat readiness of the force.

If the Army leadership were serious about maintaining the integrity of what the Ranger Course was originally designed for, (Train small unit infantry leaders in small unit light infantry tactics and to qualify soldiers for leadership roles in Ranger units), they would stop sending CS and CSS officers to the course, except the very few selected for staff duty assignments within the Ranger Regiment.

Also, considering that a vast majority of enlisted Ranger students are coming from the Ranger Regiment as a qualifier of their enlistment, the Army should place command and control of the Ranger Training Brigade under Army SOCOM (Big Daddy to the Ranger Regiment) to fund, resource and more effectively operate the course as originally intended.

Of course, that isn't likely to happen-4 star command Rice Bowls are not to be tampered with, and of besides that's not really addressing the current problem of the social engineering that is occurring across all branches of the military on a mass scale. Senior Army "leadership" have willingly rolled under Obama's legions of political appointees. The Ranger Course is just one of many examples.

Up next- Navy BUD/S training and SFQC.

Thanks for the response. I totally forgot to address the financial and "political" incentives for sending so many unnecessary people (mostly officers) to Ranger School.

People forget that once you drop all the honor and glory and Hoorah stuff, the Army is just another government bureaucracy.

Ranger School and RTB is a "fiefdom" in the machine, and its leadership wants as much money and influence as possible.

That's why you see so many officers from, for example, Logistics and Military Intelligence, walking around with Ranger Tabs and hardly any 11B (Infantry) Sergeants with one........

"We're not a patrolling school, we're a LEADERSHIP school!"

Did the Ranger School have a ‘threat therapy room for the two women’ that is inline with modern leftist universities training women to be fragile and afraid little girls?: “This prompted Sommers to say, “There’s a move to get young women in combat, and yet on our campuses, they are so fragile they can’t handle a speaker with dissenting views.” I wonder whether there will be demands for the military to have therapy dogs and safe rooms in combat situations.”
