Kasich Opposes Trump, Backs Citizenship for Illegals: They Are 'God-Fearing'

Ohio Gov. John Kasich on Monday landed the endorsement of fellow governor Robert Bentley of AlabamaLater in the day, Kasich became the third candidate to file for South Carolina's 2016 Republican primary, the first contest in the South on Feb. 20, and reiterated his difference with GOP front-runner Donald Trump on illegal immigration.

During a visit to South Carolina Republican Party headquarters in Columbia, Kasich said, he, like Trump, wants to finish construction of a wall between the United States and Mexico.

"Anyone who comes in illegally will have to be sent back," Kasich said.

Unlike Trump, Kasich has called for a path to legal citizenship for the estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants now in the country. Most are, "God-fearing, good hard-working people, and they’re part of our country now," Kasich said, repeating assertions he made in New Hampshire last week.

"I don’t think we need to be engaged in trying to figure out how to load them on buses and ship them to the border because I don't think it’s even practical or the right thing to do," Kasich said, The State reported.

At the endorsement, announced Monday at the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame in Birmingham, Bentley said Kasich has the executive level experience and background necessary to lead.

"I have watched him over the years and I chose him because of his heart," Bentley said, adding that he believes the two have similar approaches toward governing.

Bentley is the first Deep South governor to endorse Kasich, who is generally viewed as being among the more moderate Republican contenders. Kasich said he didn't spend time during his term as governor building broader name recognition and that he thinks an endorsement from Bentley — a past supporter of and delegate for Mike Huckabee — will go a long way.

Kasich is nuts.

Kasick may think he is good and right, but he sides with evil.

If we don't somehow cause 10s of millions of third world illegal criminals to get the F... out of America, then America will cease to exist.

I will I could tell Kasich to his face that he is an evil human being.

I am sick and tired of these arrogant, vile politicians thinking they know what's best for America (all the while their actions are destroying America).

I believe he backs legal status, but not citizenship, so the headline is incorrect...

Do you honestly think their is any difference??? Evil Marxist judges will make sure they ALL vote (majority rat).

Kasich is a truly evil human being -- he sides with those who are wilfully destroying my beloved Republic..

Kasich isn’t seriously running for president. This position is political suicide, especially in the Republican primary.

Kasich is going for big contributions from the money men who run the establishment. He wants a piece some of that Jeb Bush money, so he can line the pockets of himself and those closest to him. It’s pretty smart, actually. Besides, by being a lefty Republican, what few votes he gets will hurt the establishment candidates. Go Kasich!

The difference is that citizens can vote and can’t be deported.

John Kasich, compassionate conservative. I believe we’ve already been subjected to a couple of those critters in the oval office. More than enough already.

If Kasich was God fearing, he’d have discouraged his daughter from marrying another woman, and would have warned her of judgement to come. Katich, you are the problem, leave us, be gone!!

Mr. Trump is ready. Care to play?

Kasich doesn’t get it. He thought he would just jump in with that folksy Midwest shuck and jive and take over. He will be gone soon.

It’s interesting your experience. All my Chilean friends who are here legally are very conservative. The few I know who are illegal are liberal.

But John just told us yesterday he does not use the Bible to help him make decisions.

Yep. I believe him. It's obvious, in fact.

Kasich is pandering to the H1b visa employer donor class.

He just needs money so he will have to say this.

Like any good liberal he uses the Bible and God only to advance their leftist agenda, otherwise they have no use for God, the Bible or believers.

(s)marbles are round and symbolic of micro aggression of male dominance. Playing marbles leads to violence. Students caught playing with marbles will be expelled without trial as a safety precaution.

Other republican candidates may play marbles without marbles.
