State Department officials have uncovered 17,855 emails sent between a former Hillary Clinton spokesman and reporters that the agency long claimed did not exist.
The trove was among more than 80,000 emails belonging to Philippe Reines, a Clinton aide, that were discovered on his State Department account, officials said in court filings Aug. 13.
In response to a Freedom of Information Act request filed by Gawker Media in 2013, the State Department said it had no responsive records. Gawker was seeking official correspondence between Reines and reporters from 33 news outlets.
But State officials responded Thursday with the news that they had inexplicably found 81,159 emails on Reines' ".gov" email account despite asserting two years ago that none existed. Twenty-two percent, or 17,855, of the emails were likely related to Gawker's request.

“Perhaps Barry was telling him, ‘Listen man, I really tried to stop this from coming out. Really, I did!’”
More like, “Listen man. You and your wife have annoyed me for years. I own every federal department, and I’m ordering them to take you DOWN. Hillary can’t run for president from the Big House.”
Smelling of Sandy Berger’s socks.
You shouldn’t have thrown down the Gauntlet. Not fair.
To me it's the only construct that makes sense.
Intel agreed to keep Obama out of it if he allows the natural process to run it's course.
Just like cops who illegally obtain information on a crime they know they now have to develop it LEGALLY, and that takes time.
But they already know the end game.
And they already know the target they want to take down.
It is lunch time here on the Left Coast. I am glad I clicked before I ate so I have time to recover.
Gawker already hacked all of Hillary’s E-mails
Hillary! can deny the existence of all the messages she likes, but fact is every email has a sender and a receiver, both of which having copies. She can say “I never sent/received a message of type _____”, but if the recipient says “well, here’s one from/to your server & address” she’s busted. In this case, interesting that a State Dept. agent has discovered a boatload of messages to/from her whose existence were denied by her and her prior State Dept. team; obvious suspicion is (A) she lied/covered about their existence, and/or (B) the Obama is ensuring they are found & released to her detriment. Bodes very badly for her, regardless of how connected & “electable” she is - the Obama is even more connected, be those messages real (she covered them up and he’s exposing her crime) or faked (he had them fabricated and she, incompetent to even competently arrange a private email server, has no way to dispute their authenticity).
To wit: her own side - the Obama, welding the full force of POTUS - has turned on her. She’s done. Expect her to claim a sudden medical ailment requiring her take permanent rest in a well-appointed villa.
I would say he helped her master the yoga position known as Canary, or he may have sent her his recipe for Sing Sing Chop Chop.
Ezra Klein can’t be far behind.
OBAMA CANNOT TOSS HER SHE HAS EMAIL HE PROBABLY SENT
The Judge in DC my bring her down..
Great theory, missing one factor: it can’t happen without the Obama’s approval. If he didn’t approve, whoever controls that drip (and everyone he has to go thru to find that whoever) would be removed. BHO doesn’t care about revenge re: Benghazi, but he will make use of it.
He wouldn’t communicate such sensitivities by email. Face-to-face or secure (!) telephone only.
Wouldn’t be surprised if he knew about the private email server, and let her dig the hole she’s in now with it.
Why aren’t all these criminals and liars in prison? I know, there are too many of them in the Fed govt and there wouldn’t be enough left to run the place.
This would be bad, because?
Actually, I believe a complete flush of all government employees would be a good thing. Followed by a slow rebuild with no unions, no LIBs and no foreigners.
Why? They’re smart. Remember, Al Capone wasn’t jailed for murder et al, he was convicted on _tax_evasion_. They know enough to ensure their violations cannot be proven without extraordinary effort (if at all), while they plow ahead [ab]using their power to very lucrative ends. Ex.: anyone from DoJ investigating something suspicious would suddenly find themselves the subject of a debilitating IRS audit, or find their position eliminated, well before breaching the stonewall built to prevent discovery of something untoward.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Obama made the arrangements for someone to suggest her installing the private server and ensuring it remained accessible by foreign powers, and is now crushing her to shut her up now that whatever secrets have been deniably transferred to certain parties.
Oh, BTW: a lawyer I know noted that there _ARE_ ways to resolve the “tax evasion” problem. It’s possible to pay taxes anonymously, taking official record of doing so - and showing proof of payment when charges of evasion are filed. A drawer full of “tax stamps” or some such translates to “we know you did something wrong, but there’s no way we can prove it.”

“Maybe this was what the weekend meeting with Obama was about.”

Excellent point...nothing happens by chance with the Clintons or with the Bamster! Maybe a little back room blackmail from either side or she’s negotiating the pardon already!
This is one of the reasons the federal government wants a fair use gag put on the internet. How dare Gawker Geek uncover felonies committed but our sweet little government
