Because of you, it’s been another amazing week! We just wrapped up our #CruzCountry #CruzToVictory Bus Tour through seven southern states that will play a huge role in making Ted our Republican nominee for President in 2016:
Coming off of the recent Republican Presidential debate, the wind was at our backs. A recent NBC poll ran after the debate and released Sunday morning showed that Ted had jumped up to second place nationally:
But even I’ll admit, we were a little surprised at the receptions we received throughout the tour. From the debate stage in Ohio to South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Oklahoma, at stop after stop, we had to move our events from inside to outside in fields and parking lots to accommodate the crowds of courageous conservatives that turned out to support Ted. Your showing of support was absolutely breathtaking — thank you:
The tour started in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, on Friday, August 7th and concluded on Thursday evening in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where the atmosphere was absolutely electric. And the results were clear — the southern states that account for 356 of the 1,236 delegates needed to clinch the Republican nomination for President — the so-called “SEC” Primary states, are #CruzCountry. We look forward to continuing to build on our strong presence there to ensure we compete and win in the South!
One of the stops turned unusually personally along the way — I wanted to share the story with you. In Murfreesboro, Tennessee earlier this week, we had an unexpected and special guest — Pastor Gaylon Wiley. Many years ago, Pastor Wiley help lead Ted’s father, Rafael, to Jesus and baptized Ted when he was just eight years old. They hadn’t seen each other in years, and it was truly touching to witness the two of them reuniting. You can read about it here.
As a reminder, we are less than one week away from our Rally for Religious Liberty in Des Moines, Iowa that will have special appearances from the Newsboys as well as the Bontrager Family Singers. You won’t want to miss it — click here to RSVP to join us! If you or your church would like to host a viewing party, you may sign up for the live stream here.
Why does Ted Cruz want to multiply the number of H1-B immigrants by 500%.

Why? How much unemployment of US citizens will be enough for him? Why did he promise the Chamber of Commerce that he would get them this, to help Americans?
Cruzin’ on up...
Cruz 2016 because there really aren’t any other serious choices.
Cruz is gonna make a great Veep.
This disturbs me greatly. Already some businesses are firing American workers and making them train their “legal” immigrants for those positions. This is a deal breaker for me.
I’ll see Senator Cruz in Iowa on Friday. And shame on Cruz for lumping Oklahoma in with the SEC.
Watch the video. Ted Cruz talked about his father coming here with a student visa. After graduating, he started up a company and created jobs in this country.
May 14, 2013
WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) today presented an amendment to the Gang of Eight immigration bill that would improve our nation’s legal immigration system by increasing high-skilled temporary worker visas, called H-1B visas, by 500 percent. The measure would effectively address the needs of our nation’s high-skilled workforce by helping meet the growing demand for workers in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. It will also make block grants available to states to promote STEM education efforts and increase domestic STEM professionals. The committee voted against the amendment 4 to 14 with every Democrat voting against it on a party-line vote.
“I strongly support legal immigration. Legal immigration is a fundamental pillar of our nation's heritage, and I was pleased today to offer legislation that would have improved and expanded legal immigration by dramatically increasing the cap for high-tech temporary worker visas. This amendment would not only improve the current system, but would also encourage economic growth and create new jobs in America. There is currently a serious shortage of workers in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math, yet every year we send thousands of high-tech graduate students back to their home countries to start businesses and create jobs. This makes no sense. I’m disappointed in the committee’s vote to reject expanding high-tech immigration. Although the Gang of Eight's bill makes a modest step towards improving high-tech immigration, it does not go nearly far enough. There is no reason to arbitrarily cap high-tech visas at 110,000 when these jobs are going unfilled. We need economic growth here and now.”
Sen. Cruz’s amendment would:
Immediately increase the H-1B cap by 500 percent from 65,000 to 325,000.
Help retain the high-skilled workers that are trained in the U.S. by allowing “dual intent.”
Create block grants for states to promote STEM education in their public schools by raising H-1B fees.
I’d rather see him as Chief Justice SCOTUS than Veep.
Sanity at last.
That will be a waste!
Yes, Cruz is the best conservative in the race. He is an allround conservative with the brains and the instincts.
Look at post #7.
What does Ted think about THE WALL? Does Ted want THE WALL? Or is Ted just another Trojan Horse?
THE WALL, Ted. Where do you stand?
Donald Trump and Jess Sessions have correctly described the issue, and our country apparently has too many STEM graduates:
From Jim Robinson (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3325463/posts)
“Here are some additional specific policy proposals for long-term reform:
Increase prevailing wage for H-1Bs. We graduate two times more Americans with STEM degrees each year than find STEM jobs, yet as much as two-thirds of entry-level hiring for IT jobs is accomplished through the H-1B program. More than half of H-1B visas are issued for the programs lowest allowable wage level, and more than eighty percent for its bottom two. Raising the prevailing wage paid to H-1Bs will force companies to give these coveted entry-level jobs to the existing domestic pool of unemployed native and immigrant workers in the U.S., instead of flying in cheaper workers from overseas. This will improve the number of black, Hispanic and female workers in Silicon Valley who have been passed over in favor of the H-1B program. Mark Zuckerbergs personal Senator, Marco Rubio, has a bill to triple H-1Bs that would decimate women and minorities.
Requirement to hire American workers first. Too many visas, like the H-1B, have no such requirement. In the year 2015, with 92 million Americans outside the workforce and incomes collapsing, we need to companies to hire from the domestic pool of unemployed. Petitions for workers should be mailed to the unemployment office, not USCIS.”
Tulsa, OK
Absolutely true.
Roberts is going to just hand him the gavel or whatever?
POTUS for 8 years and then Chief Justice.
You see, Ted Cruz believes we are short STEM graduates, while the truth is we have too many, but employers are able to hire H1-B visa immigrants at 80% of whatever the prevailing wage is for US citizens.
Ted Cruz wants to hurt the US. Why?
