2016 Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz traveled to Reno following his appearance at the Basque Fry in Gardnerville today.
The Texas senator held a public meet-and-greet at the ArrowCreek Country Club Saturday evening. He spoke about reforming the tax code, including establishing a flat tax and abolishing the IRS.
As for speaking directly to Nevadans, Cruz says that the government owns too much land. He also emphasized that being the 4th caucus, Nevada "has the power to make a big statement."

Reno gets some helluva thunderstorms, clouds piled up to God, and you can see them from all the way across the valley - or from the mountain.
I don’t know about the odds... I had a positively thrilling 60 seconds at a craps table there once, though.

I also live in Gardnerville, 200 ft from the Calif border. Walk my dog every day to the Calif side in order for him to do his business. LOL, what poetic justice.

[Gardnerville - they have trees, there.
Yes, and so does Minden.]
My favorite is the Union Hotel Basque table.

Call it a Bromance. But hey, I claimed him first. In all seriousness, his appeal to me is that he’s the first candidate ever who is what I am- a Christian, Constitutionalist, Conservative.

It will too. I live right on the Calif/Nev border not too far from Gardnerville/Minden.We must be neighbors....I'm only about 5 miles from the border.

This is NOT something Cruz threw in for the local. He discusses this at length in his book. It's an excellent sleeper issue, which should be a no brainer for both conservatives AND Republicans.
