Trump’s popularity with college kids doesn’t surprise me. I teach college. They all know him. Ted Cruz and Scott Walker can only dream (no pun intended) of this kind of support from this age group.

You should appreciate this. Anyone who has every had a lazy roommate can understand while socialism does not work.

Upon moving in together at the beginning of the fall 2001 semester, Dorff, Josh Foyle, and Tom Eaves sat down and devised an egalitarian system for harmonious living. Each individual roommate would be assigned a task, which he would be required to carry out on a predetermined day of the week.

It happens every presidential election cycle.

Look back at some of the mass BANs by JR.

The board does get heated. Tempers flair. People get banned. People make grandstand Opuses or Opi.

Gotta wear asbestos underware during those times.

Last election a Medical Team was on standby to tend to all those wounds and splinters of FReepers jumping from one crashing political bandwagon to another.

But the real stuff hasn’t even started yet. That will be around January when the primaries start. We will see a rash of candidate-preference bot-posts in nearly every thread and the bashing to those who oppose one candidate or another.

Hang on.

I’m favorable to Trump at present but somewhat guarded.

This is the best description I've seen that describes my current position. Still giving money only to Cruz, though.

I like you but you exaggerate how it was.

It’s my assumption that there’s some sort of budding alliance or at least a truce between the two. A lot of synergy there, the one is strong where the other is weak and vice versa. We could do worse than Trump/Cruz or Cruz/Trump, although I suspect the latter wouldn’t be likely at all.

>>Mitt Romney but applies equally to amnesty pimpus Marcus Rubio<<

And Jeb.

I don’t despise Jeb for being a Bush — and anyone who knee-jerks against Bush for the name is inane — I just think Jeb is an amnesty-seeking eGOPer who stands for nothing and will fall for anything.

Have people around here ever seen the movie “Back To School” with Rodney Dangerfield?

The GOP establishment sees Trump as Thornton Mellon. The kids like him because he says what he likes, has confidence etc. he was the underdog on campus. He wasn’t a part of the intellectual college elitists whom he embarrassed. He flashes his bucks around because he was a very rich and successful business man, was unapologetic and loved life.

Cruz is like his son. Smart, not snotty and likes his Dad because he knows his Dad is a lot deeper than what people think he is. Dad isn’t polished in the way the intellectual elites are, but he knows Dad is also smart and a very effective individual. More so than the snobs.

When I watch this election cycle so far, I think of this and it makes me chuckle.
