A custom cake baker in suburban Denver cant cite his religious convictions in declining to make a wedding cake for two men, a Colorado appeals court ruled today.
Cake artist Jack Phillips said he gladly serves gays and lesbians in his family business. But, Phillips said, he could not in good conscience design a wedding cake for a same-sex couple when, as a Christian, he believes that marriage is the union of a man and a woman.
A three-judge panel of the Colorado Court of Appeals ruled that not doing so amounts to illegal discrimination based on sexual orientation, the Associated Press reported.

Maybe they need to find a new business venture??
I would not.
BS
Constitutional rights > “gay rights”
Freedom of religion + Freedom of association > homosexuality
they should make one, but make it crappy.
“Christian Baker Goes To Jail; God is pleased with Baker”
I would design it using appropriate scriptural verses, and all the words the bible uses to describe homosexuality.
That’s my design, if you dont like it, dont buy it.
I think this is jow they get around it. They need to come up with a standard design for gay cakes and all the rest, no modifications, and if they don’t like the design they offer, then dont buy it.
If the cake makers were Muslims, no problem, Christians no so much!
It is way past time we started dealing with these Lying Nazis.
Don’t put the two fag characters on top the cake. Tell all customers straight or queer where they can be purchased and let them do it themselves
If some judge ever orders me to make a gay quilt I’ll be happy to drape it over his/her casket.
Upside down cake?
They shouldn’t have to. Let the homos find another bakery. That is a much easier solution.
This is the most chilling part of the whole episode. As soon as there is an exchange of goods or services one surrenders their rights? Totalitarianism by any other name would smell so foul!
This amounts to the government denying a livelihood to someone because of their faith. This isnt about child or animal sacrifice, or cult behavior, or anything illegal. This violates contrsct law, the right to association and business owners deny rights to service over far less, such as no shoes, shirt, no tie or sportcoat, not a member, not paying a cover fee, etc.
The First Amendment trumps a federal black robed thug. Or a state black robed thug.
Game over.
Wedding cakes for sale: Flour represents male; Sugar represents female. Two males get double flour, no sugar. Two females get double sugar, no flour.
Yum.
Places deny service to people for a host of reasons already.
Making a cake against your religious beliefs is no different than giving the Nazis a salute. It is beside the point that your "salute" is pathetic and without vigor, the only thing that matters is that you were forced to do it and that you have acknowledged you will obey their diktats.
Maybe they could cater to them by setting up some mew websites.com
Www.faggotcakes.com
