Carly Fiorina: "Always the parent's choice" to vaccinate kids
CBS News ^ | 8/14/2015 | Reena Flores

Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina said Thursday that parents should not be forced to vaccinate their children against diseases like measles or mumps. However, she said she also believes schools should be free to make vaccinations for communicable diseases a requirement for attendance, saying families have to "make that trade-off" for themselves.

Fiorina told reporters after the event that "when you have highly communicable diseases where you have a vaccine that's proven, like measles or mumps, then I think a parent can make that choice."

California, where Fiorina ran for a Senate seat against Democrat Barbara Boxer in 2010, recently passed a law requiring nearly all schoolchildren to be vaccinated. Several calls to tighten the state's vaccine laws erupted after a measles outbreak last December was found to have originated in Disneyland.

Fiorina expressed her disapproval of the mandate, saying that "California is wrong on most everything, honestly."

It certainly is tinfoil stuff, though I don’t expect the tinfoil crowd to understand why.

The technology existing isn’t what I think is “tinfoil” worthy. It’s the idea that these thing would be put into vaccinations that I find hilarious.

.
>> “non-vaccine related measles are only so low nowadays because NEARLY EVERYONE is vaccinated against the disease.” <<

Utter nonsense!

First, real vaccination levels are far lower than your imagination tells you.

Second, prevalence of infectious disease in countries with water systems is almost nil.

The local open well has always been the source of disease transmission everywhere.

They have not been infected with the active form of the disease, so you’re just making more false comparisons. I guess that’s your stock in trade.

Vaccines destroy immune systems in most people.

“...vaccines provide a direct benefit to your immune system’s ability fight specific diseases.”

The Gates Foundation doesn’t research tinfoil.

What, precisely, do you think the term ‘live virus vaccine’ means?

Oh well, doctors and insurance companies have freedom of choice just like everyone else in this country. I guess you like freedom of choice when it lets you decide not to vaccinate, but not when it lets other choose not to do business with you?

“... had they not been vaccinated the likelihood of accidental infection was almost non-existent.”

ONLY because the mass immunizations have nearly stamped the disease out in this corner of the world.

” The likelihood of any infectious disease is so remote that the vaccine can only increase the hazard to the general population.”

Blatantly false, as demonstrated by my previous post about the rates of deaths in the pre-vaccine era.

It’s not ‘freedom of choice’ when government essentially owns, via obamacare, the insurance companies.

Who do you think controls the ‘subsidies’ the insurance companies need to stay fiscally afloat?

Who do you think controls the medicare/medicaid reimbursement rates that MD’s depend on?

It’s not ‘freedom of choice’ if they are economically prevented from their OWN freedom of choice. Do you expect the MD’s to go broke defending their right to treat patients who haven’t had any of the (200 vaccines in the pipeline right now) vaccines the government arbitrarily decides the people need?

It’s not the doctors writing the ‘healthy people 2020’ goals, it’s bureaucrats. The same ones who write EPA regulations, OSHA regulations, EEOC regulations...

So, when you have to roll up your sleeve for (at this point likely 3 or 4 vaccines) whatever they say you need just to get an MRI to see if that suspicious lump is really cancer...I’m sure that’s all about ‘freedom of choice’. I suppose it might be...get ‘the schedule’ or else...

Ok, let’s focus on getting rid of Obamacare then, instead of this silly vaccine stuff.

It’s an attenuated form of the virus, meaning it is specifically modified to have a reduced virulence. It is NOT the active virus that would infect you “in the wild”.

Seeing that measles outbreaks were common before the vaccine, and quite rare now, anyone can see that Mr. Solomon doesn’t have a clue what he’s talking about.

You’ll never get rid of Obamacare.

No one in any position of authority wants to.

And those in positions of authority aren’t giving up that authority any time soon.

It’s not going to just be vaccines. It will likely be statin medication, and whatever else their ‘cooked numbers’ tell them is needed on an ‘epidemiological basis’. You are now a ‘herd’.

The insurance companies and big pharma weren’t enthusiastically supporting Obamacare in ‘09 because they thought it wouldn’t make them lots of money...mandated vaccinations are just part of that. They never expire from patent, incur no tort and can be mandated. What’s not to love from a profit standpoint?
