Did we just see Erick Ericksons Red State draw a red line in the sand in front of Rush Limbaugh? And if so, is it another aspect of the booming dynamic known as the Trump effect?
That very case can be made as Erickson used Red States daily email blast lead story from Dan McLaughlin on Wednesday to fire shots across the bow of all talk radio hosts who are in any way supporting Donald Trump. And while Erickson does not have the by-line on this indictment, it is right in line with his recent dis-invitation of Trump to speak at the recent Red State gathering. (snip)
(snip) gauntlet is thrown down on all talkers with the bombastic warning that all those in a position of leadership . cable and talk radio hosts, pundits, columnists, bloggers (who are) actively encouraging the Trump phenomenon, you are neither a conservative nor a Republican anymore and should not expect anyone to take you seriously again.
Theres nothing else to add to that, other than to notice that a direct endorsement of Trump was not a requirement here no merely the encouragement of the Trump phenomenon is in and of itself damning.
And just in case anyone still missed the main point of the article, it closed with the harsh notice that Donald Trumps feckless campaign is a millstone . take it off your necks, or be drowned by it. The close was dramatically stark on purpose.
Translation: Those talk leaders who now speak well of Trumps campaign are heading for a major embarrassment down the line
.and ole Erick will be there to remind them.

No. I am not the one suggesting the Republicans run an untested, media contrived, liberal, reality show star against her. Those people would be the one's who are supporting Hillary by making her path to the White House easier.
Proud moderate GOPe candidates like Jeb are not the ones loosing votes to fake conservative flame throwers like Trump. It is true conservatives who stand up to the GOPe like my candidate, Cruz, who are being hurt by Trump.
What is going to happen is that not long after Super Tuesday there will be incredibly damning info that comes out about Trump. It may be enough to make him loose the nomination but by that time the only person left with enough support, money and delegates will be Jeb. On the other hand, Trump may have gained enough delegates at that point to hang on to the nomination. He will then get destroyed in the general. I really hope that after either of those eventualities unfold, there is a huge purge here on FR to get rid of all you naive idiots who are sabotaging conservatism's best chance in years.
Go, Trump, GO!!
My access started in 2008 and ended in March 2011........long long long story, best appreciated over an adult beverage. Quite amazing. I can show you the email that alerted Rush and Matt Drudge to some guy named Rick Santelli and this “Chicago Tea Party idea on Lake Michigan” - sent at 9:50 am on 2-19-09.
Thus, I can be of no help on that, but I bet a few emails to 24/7 would get it handled.
Reagan was pretty close to that kind of rebel. So was Jimmy Carter at the time come to think of it. Maybe not pure....in the sense of Trump....but not establishment - neither one of them.
He said in 2009 and reiterated on Morning Joe a couple of weeks ago...that he blames no Democrats...said “the Democrats wouldn’t have done that.” DIRECT QUOTE. Just maybe 2 weeks ago.
Aw, shucks...thanks!
Erickson’s drip drip drip.
yeah, and he soft pedaled the idiotic “new tone” strategy too....
“but wasnt Erick Erickson a psychologist who died about 20 years ago”.
No, but he is a walking bucket of lard, one donut away from a heart attack.
You would have hated it. :)"
Hated it? No...hate is a strong word.
I just don't have the time for Rush's fangirling. He's not a stupid man, so I expect better from him...not making his show into a Trump informercial to the extent of openly mocking callers who (correctly)doubt Trump's conservatism.
I listen to radio talkers not to have an opinion given to me, but to hear my own opinion echoed. When they stop, I turn them off.
I will say that Rush has lost a lot of credibility with me going forward, even after the Trump show has left the stage.
Actually, he did say directly he would not let Ford move to Mexico. And even if he clarified later with tariffs on those vehicles, that penalizes American consumers and American investors. Sorry, the only answer here is to make America a great place to manufacture, NOT PUNISHING PRIVATE companies for making wise business decisions. No excuse, none.
The Harley issue, one where Reagan went against Reaganomics and Reagan principles, is a totally different ball of wax. Poor analogy.
You kill me when you post that. :)
I loved Maria Doyle Kennedy’s portrayal of CoA so much. It was the reason I took the name for my FR handle.
What a great lady.
“all those in a position of leadership actively encouraging the Trump phenomenon, you are neither a conservative nor a Republican anymore and should not expect anyone to take you seriously again.
Erickson is a sleezeball liberal bucket of shyt, who claims to be a Christian conservative. Christian conservatives don’t talk like this..........

Trump or Dump
Cruz or Lose
“Bring it on Eric. We are ready to rubble. You are trash now...”
Your ‘trash’ stinketh, Erick...the stuff we get from our horses to fertilize our garden has a Chanel quality about it compared to you!
Pat Paulsen.
Anal?
(That wasn’t me. Who said that!)
