In the Cleveland debate, Donald Trump refused to commit to support whomever the Republican Party nominates in 2016.
Trump would be wise to maintain his freedom of action.
For there is a plot afoot in the Washington Post Conservative Club to purge Trump from the Republican Party before the primaries begin.
“A political party has a right to … secure its borders,” asserts the Post’s George Will, “a duty to exclude interlopers.” Will wants The Donald “excommunicated” and locked out of all GOP debates until he kneels and takes a loyalty oath to the nominee.
“Marginalizing Trump” carries no risk of “alienating a substantial Republican cohort,” Will assures us, for these “Trumpites” are neither Republicans nor conservatives. Better off without such trash.
The Post’s Michael Gerson says “establishment Republicans” must “make clear that [Trump] has moved beyond the boundaries of serious and civil discourse.” He loathes the Trumpites as much as Will.
Trump’s followers are “xenophobic,” Gerson tells CNN. They have a “resentment of outsiders, of Mexico, of China, and immigrants. That’s more like a European right-wing party, a UKIP or a National Front in France. Republicans can’t incorporate that.”
But if the GOP has no room for Trump’s followers, it has no future. For there simply aren’t that many chamber-of-commerce and country-club Republicans.
Trump should tell the GOP, in the neocons’ favorite phrase, “All options are on the table.” And that includes the Samson Option.
Trump should tell the GOP that if it disrespects him and his followers, then he is prepared to do as did the biblical hero Samson, when, blinded and mocked by the Philistines, he pushed the pillars apart and brought the temple down upon the heads of them all.

Me too. Well the “xenophobic” part I'm totally cool with.
The "follower" part is what bothers me. It is a weak attempt at an insult. Ironically coming from (R)epublicrat losers who are already hinting that we must support Bush45 if he is on the ticket, to save the country.
They do NOT have the courage to say those words though.
This is news! We already know that. We the people need to stick together because this is going to be a HELL of a fight! We’re going to have to fight the media (including Fox) GOPe, Democraps and everyone who will try to get a name for themselves for attacking Trump. Go to Hell GOPe!
I can hardly believe what this so-called conservative wrote. To say that people who support Trump are “trash” and that the party is better off without them?! Trump is bringing up for discussion legitimate concerns that many people are having and that few Republicans have the boldness to address. Does he not realize that such insults are going to push people towards Trump rather than away from him?! Will should be addressing the concerns of the base, not trashing them.
I’d love a third-party win. Actually, it would be a second party, because the repubs and dems are all owned by the same K street lobbyists and their clients.

The first Republican governor in Georgia since Reconstruction, one hundred and thirty years ago, was sworn-in in 2003. The Republican Party was almost nonexistent here until recently. In that sense, leaving the party would not be that difficulty I suspect.

I know it’s true because the last person gazing in the direction of my splendor cried out... “MY EYES!!!” Which could only have meant that that person had found sight and was overwhelmed by glory of what was seen. Fortunately Mandrake, I was able to correctly interpret this event.

The more the establishment nitwits poke Trump with a stick the more he actively fights them with his candidacy. The more they deliberately irritate him the more I hate the
Republicrat Party and everything it doesn’t stand for any longer.
The GOP is ineffectual as they stood idly by while Bush II took out Saddam thereby creating the gargantuan mess that is today’s middle east. They stand idly by while asinine, dangerous treaties are negotiated with our retinue of enemies from Cuba to Iran.
Perhaps Trump is the only chance we now have of salvaging our nation before it and all of us is blown away with the wind.

No they won’t. At the end of the day they will vote Hillary (or someone else)...it’s in their DNA, Democrats/Socialists can’t help themselves.
