Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said that he is against a flat tax and people as they make more and more money can pay a higher percentage in an interview broadcast on Wednesdays Hannity on the Fox News Channel.

A flat tax would be a loser to all candidates and should be sold for four years so people can come to understand it first.
Talked to someone last night who did not even know Obama is doubling the debt. Didn’t know he pulled the troops on Iraq causing Isis to get in.
Didn’t know about the Hillary email scandal or that Trump is running.
No spin. I just read his book The top tax bracket is 15%. My taxes would go way down.
And which of Trump's rivals for the presidency is for the so called assault weapons ban which he is in favor of? But that is not what this thread is about.
Planned Parenthood has been shown to have committed criminal acts. Why should ANY part of it be funded with our tax dollars?
Most of us lack the resources to survive picking a fight, even inadvertantly, with the IRS, so we are cowed into full compliance. God bless those who can.
I believe Cruz is against any amnesty.
Reagan didn’t sway from his conservatism; Trump is.. whatever he feels like being that day.
Reagan was liberal. He worked as an actor, was a leader of their union, became Governor of California, was a registered Democrat. After he got into office (governor) he then turned to conservatism. If Reagan tried to run today the conservatives on this board would try to destroy him as they are trying to destroy Trump.
Why should taxpayers fund a private health-care clinic? Why shouldn't PP have to rely on private donors like other “non-profits.”
Sales taxes apply to items that are also taxed for ‘sin’ status.
Wrong. While he supported the New Deal in the 1930s (and I correct my earlier statement in that point), as most of the country did, Reagan’s political philosophies were well onto the conservative side by the early 1950s. He endorsed Eisenhower in 1952 and 1956, and finalized his party switch in 1962... four full years before election as CA governor in 1966. And by the way... Reagan also endorsed Barry Goldwater in 1964.. hardly the hallmark of a liberal.
Reagan was my hero,, the first person I voted for but he SIGNED not VETOED pro abortion bills while he was governor and he signed a big Amnesty bill while President while not building a wall.. total disqualifiers to most in here now
big difference between Reagan not being a liberal and NEVER swaying from his conservative values...
Yep, everybody pays Federal Income Taxes unlike today where only 50% pay them, that is very Democratic.
Of course, it is a Proposal that would have to go through the Legislative Sausage Making Machine, which again makes it just a Proposal, nothing more.
Nothing he says matter to his supporters.
It’s fascinating.
Are you sure? Remember that in addition to lowering the rate, it eliminates deductions and credits. So that 15% would be applied to your gross income, not to your adjusted income. You wouldn't be able to deduct your mortgage interest, medical expenses, charitable giving, etc. For someone taking the standard deduction, it might lower their taxes. But for anyone that owns a home, probably not.
Just to clarify, Reagan became a Republican and a conservative long before he became governor of California. You really should read his autobiography. The first Republican Reagan supported for president was Eisenhower, and he campaigned for Nixon against Kennedy, even though he was still registered as a Democrat. He registered as a Republican after the 1960 election.
LOL By today’s standards JFK was a conservative.
“Ask not what your country can do for you but what YOU can do for your country.”
Imagine a politician saying that today!
Yes, my taxes would go down about $3,600.
They always say that. Until the fiat money is finally "worth paper," and people are papering their shanties with it, and burning it for heat.
