Massive Explosion in China's Tinajin

Footage circulating online appears to show a massive explosion in the northern Chinese city of Tianjin, the cause of which is not yet known. The explosion reportedly occurred at the Tianjin Binhai New Development Zone at about 23:30 (15:30 GMT). Pictures and video footage shared on social media suggest a number of people were wounded by the blast. Several nearby tower blocks are without power, according to the Chine

Just heard that it showed up on a weather satellite. That is as bad as Sharknado blasting sharks into space.
All seriousness, there is no doubt there are fatalities. We should pray for them. I am not a Communist Chinese fan, but I don’t want any innocent people hurt.

Various Twitter sources saying a fire started in a container of “Explosives” at the “Metalurgical Industrial” port.
That caused an acetylene transfer tank at the port to explode. Other Tweets say it was acetone/ketene.

That’s a big one. Hard to guess on the cause and magnitude. But then the Chinese commonly put inherently dangerous plants in urban settings.
