MARK CUBAN: I want to be a Republican — but the party has one big problem
The Business Insider ^ | 8/12 | Colin Campbell

Posted on 08/12/2015 8:13:11 AM PDT by TangledUpInBlue

In a Tuesday post on his Cyber Dust social media app, the outspoken billionaire investor wrote that he would prefer to join the GOP but has an issue with the party's push for conformity.

"Put aside that I disagree with Republicans on most social issues. The Republicans have a much bigger problem that will crush them in every Presidential election until this changes."

Cuban lamented that those who disagree with the "Consensus" are labeled as fake Republicans.

"The Republican Party requires that all their Presidential candidates Conform to Consensus. If you don't agree with every platform of the party not only are you called a RINO, a 'Republican in Name Only.' You are considered unelectable in primaries and become a source of scorn on Fox News. That's a problem," he said.

Leave it to the Donald, Mark. He’s seen it, done it, remembers, and is a steady hand.

Like all liberals, Cuban is a dissembler i.e. falsifier i.e. liar. Cuban says he doesn't believe in social issues. That's obviously false. Liberals believe deeply in liberal social issues.

Naturally, at the top of the list of liberal, social issues Cuban (like the great majority of liberals) beieves in is abortion. Because condoning/rationalizing abortion gives them an excuse to engage in any sexual behavior they want without consequences.

Once you can rationalize a human embryo to a "blob of cells," you have basically thrown away your right to be called a civilized human.

Afriend of mine in Los Angeles has known Cuban for around 20 years. He used to be a hard core leftist. I assume he is still a leftist, now a few qualms.

"Try to get elected as a D opposing abortion, higher taxes, school choice, and a dozen other issues that are CONSENSUS to the D’s."

That is exactly 100% correct. The comments following the article castigate Republicans for being rigid as far their beliefs.

I dare any Dem candidate to get in front of a crowd of Dems and say he or she is pro-life, pro traditional marriage, or anti affirmative action. That candidate would have the political life of an ice cube in 100 degree weather.

How come that’s not applied to the Dems? They have a party line to tow on abortion, global warming, Iran deal (ask Schumer), unions, etc.

Well if the RINOs didn’t keep winning primaries and losing election

Party leadership has a history of undermining and backstabbing Conservatives. They worked with the Democrats to gerrymander Allen Wests district to increase liberal voters. They enticed Democrats to vote against Chris McDaniel in the Mississippi Republican primary and also funded flyers claiming McDaniel would work with the TEA Party to suppress minority votes.

Ted Cruz has had to fight liberals in both parties. They would rather lose than cede power to a Conservative who represents the party base.

If MARK CUBAN can’t take the heat, he needs to stay out of the kitchen.

That said, it’s a lot more fun being a Republican in the wild wild west of today’s politics than being in the PC dead corrupt world of liberals and their 50 year old ideas...

Be a man Mark Cuban ... or go sit in a corner with democrats at one of their famous pity parties... whine away with ‘em.

LOL - what Mark Cuban doesn't 'get' is the 'other side' (of Republicans) call us 'the crazies'...

[[The sooner Mark Cuban has surgery to correct cranial-rectal inversion, the better.]]

Cranialrectalotomies are very rarely done in hollywood

Loyalty to moral principles is one of the rational virtues. It is called integrity.Lack of integrity leads to pragmatism, eclecticism, middle of the roadism, and opportunism which leads to mixed economy, and compromise of morality, which leads to corruption and hypocrisy.

A net worth in excess of a billion tends to make someone abandon socialistic economics, unless his wealth is tied to government contracts, he is well connected with the leftist foundation and activist networks (Soros), he is a trust fund baby (assorted Rockefellers and Kennedys, Bill Ayers, etc.), or she is a liberal widow of a wealthy man (Teresa Heinz Kerry, Joan Kroc, etc.). Cuban made his fortune the old-fashioned way; he earned it.

Mark Cuban has expressed libertarian sentiments in the recent past.

If Mark Cuban wants to destroy economic freedom so that he can destroy religious freedom, then that is his choice.

Because the Demon Rat party does BOTH.

These anti-social issues type fall into three categories:
  1. Women stuck in adolescence who "don't want anybody telling me what to do."

  2. Men who want to use women as objects then kill the resulting babies in order to destroy the evidence.

  3. Men and women who don't want to be seen as prudes.
