US military official: 'We were outraged' when Turkey pulled a fast one after the anti-ISIS deal

An American military source told Fox News that US military leaders were "outraged" when Turkey began launching airstrikes against the Kurdish PKK in northern Iraq just hours after striking a deal with the US opposing the Islamic State, the militant group also known as ISIS, ISIL, or Daesh. A Turkish officer entered the allied headquarters in the air war against ISIS and "announced that the strike would begin in 10 minutes and he needed all allied jets flying above Iraq to move south of Mosul immediately," the source said.

"We were outraged."

The US special forces stationed in northern Iraq advising and training Kurdish peshmerga fighters had virtually no warning before Turkish jets started striking the mountains, where the PKK is headquartered.

Well, if I believe this general, they were surprised or outraged or blindsided by whatever the Turks did (and I confess I don’t have the precise hierarchy of the involved players memorized) then they were de facto skunked. Skunked = surprised.

I can’t say what the 0bama admin wants, other than to opine they would like Iran to become the utterly dominant force in the ME. As to whatever happens to the Turks or the Kurds (large or small) or the Peshmerga or the Yazidis or Hezboleh or the Kardashians, he could care less. Valerie Jarret wants Iran to run that part of the world and 0bama does what she says.

Why should anyone be surprised that another podunk country bent Obama over and buggered him? Obama is a little bitch who is going to get his business mashed when he messes with real men.

This is the most pathetic excuse for a weak girly man this nation has ever had in a leadership position. Other countries simply don't give a crap about his "blackness" and they simply don't respect him because he's a P***Y.

Obama has no other trick than playing his "blackness" and when that doesn't work, he's screwed.

This has to be feigned outrage because if it is not we are in deep doo doo. If this is an example of “Military Intelligence in the age of Obama we are ripe to be taken down hard.

Yes I am, for the simple reason that Obama is an incompetent fool, and very little that he actually attempts to do works out the way he planned.

Biggest screw up in history.

Turkiye is not, in principle, opposed to Daesh or the Caliphate. Istanbul is the “natural seat” of the Caliphate. Erdogan is going to let ISIS establish a functioning caliphate with a stable territory then he means for Turkiye to abscond with it to Istanbul. After the first three Caliphs, the Caliph ceased to rule but was the spiritual head of Islam or that part of Islam that didn’t set up other caliphs. In a Caliphate the Sultan rules but the Caliph takes ceremonial precedence and has the final say in things religious. The Caliph doesn’t upset the Sultan that administers the Caliphate ad the Sultan doesn’t have him strangled as he routinely would his minions who screw up or displease hijm.

Your CinC is a Sunni Moslem working with other Sunnis, ISIS and AQ, and with the Shia Iranians to destroy Israel and Shia Iran. I believe him to be enabling and provoking a nuclear attack by Iran on Israel which, even if successful would elicit a far more powerful nuclear counter attack against Iran which would simply cease to exist as a nation or a power or a society. The potential fly in the grand plan is the ICBMs. They are not terribly useful against Israel and Iran may well take a side shot at DC or NY.
I nope the military didn't really abandon the airborne and shipborne laser program that was pretty close to being deployable when Hussein shut it down. And I hope that Israel has anti-missile capability the rest of the world knows not yet of.

Why were they surprised? What did they expect? Turks are racist pigs. Now they are Jihadists too. Obama must have known this would happen. He is a racist jihadi too.

A senior US official has accused Turkey of pulling a bait-and-switch by using a recent anti-Islamic State agreement with the US as a “hook” to attack the Kurdish PKK in northern Iraq, The Wall Street Journal reports.

“It’s clear that ISIL was a hook,” the senior military official told The Journal, referring to the Islamic State (aka ISIS, ISIL, or Daesh).

“Turkey wanted to move against the PKK, but it needed a hook.”

Reminiscent of when we allowed the Iraqis the use of airspace to evacuate their personnel from Kuwait at the end of SWA I. Instead they used it to gas the Kurds.

Last week General Ray Odierno retired after 39 years in the Army and on his way out said President Obama has never spoken directly with him about a plan to defeat ISIS.
