Sheetz already does this. They’re in PA and perhaps elsewhere. People make the food (and it’s pretty good) but the ordering is all done through a computer terminal. Fast and efficient, with no “language problem” from the cashier.
I think Wawa started it. Also in PA and visited by Romney on his campaign trail.
The only way to make Sheetz food better is to eat the wrapper instead of the sandwich.
Or you just download an app, order it on your cell phone, drive thru and pick up the order.
Last time I was in a Sheetz and came face-to-face with the kiosk, I walked away. I need to look the woman in the eyes as I tell her how to make me a sammich.
