You'd think. My warning comes from Kasich's campaigning for Governor for his second term. He had a laughably flawed opponent, for sure. But Kasich took nothing for granted. He ran a wonderfully timed thorough campaign. Part of it was explaining his views and his background extremely well. Kasich won something like all but two OH counties, which should've been unthinkable.
That's why I say don't discount Kasich. He will not wilt on the campaign trail, I suspect.
Like Huckabee has said before, it helps having a Southern accent when compaigning in the South, or someone they can identify with. To me that rules out big government RINO Bush, and the rest of the establishment RINOs, which certainly includes Kasich. You can’t be more of a Washington insider than John Kasich. He minimized the Supreme Court ruling on homosexual marriage the first time it was mentioned to him. Saying “I believe in traditional marriage, but the Supreme Court has spoken and its the law of the land and we need to move on”. Showed no animosity to the ruling whatsoever. This will gain him many votes in the South. The Bible Belt wants someone who will fight for what’s right and wrong and with Kasich, the ultimate GOPe insider, you’re not going to get it. Same thing with Bush. Both talks to much like a democrat, lifting up the people on the margins of society. I read an article yesterday that asked the question is Kasich the Pope Francis of American politics. Lord.
