Does anyone have any doubt why Trump refuses to say that he will not necessarily endorse the GOP's candidate or that he won't run as an independent? I would suggest the RNC rein in these "strategists" because Trump could be the nominee or they will force him to run as an independent, which will kill the GOP's chances in 2016.
Donald Trump And The 'War On Women': GOP Confident Mogul Will Lose The Battle
It has been a dizzying few days for Donald Trump. But as the dust swirls from his latest provocation a controversial remark about Fox News moderator Megyn Kelly the party that has until now begrudgingly tolerated him has shown itself ready to cut him loose.
As Democrats focused with glee on Trumps remark and what it may say about the so-called Republican war on women, GOP strategists said they expected the real-estate mogul would not stay the course.
On Saturday one strategist, Liz Mair, told the Guardian: Its a very good thing for the GOP that Trump is basically self-destructing in front of our eyes.
Trumps latest controversy exploded in an interview with CNN on Friday, when he appeared to imply that Kelly had questioned him so directly in the first debate on Thursday when she quizzed him about his previous derogatory statements about women because she was menstruating.
No, but I was thinking about posting it...
Maybe maggief will.
I need to go to our FReepathon thread.
We (conservatives) vote on the basis of the lesser of two evils, so I guess we can watch FNN as the least of many evils.
Yeah right! Me too! The first day I drove my truck wiped out a squirrel , a rattle snake and bambi!
I don’t steer,I aim it!
That’s absolutely sickening!
These GOP know-it-all’s love to lose.
Hillary elected to POTUS is the last thing Trump wants.
The GOP/RNC be warned. Don’t drop Trump or force him from the debates.
He can and likely will go Independent or?
"Trump chatted once with my Mom at an event. A true gentleman. He never once neglected to ask about her by name for years thereafter."
LOLO...and so be it!
Research all if their numbers move. Have ammo if they are a winner or failure that way
A Board of Directors can “fire” you and you have no defense save a lawsuit, but with Putin, China, and Iran you can “fire” back.....
Carly lost in a Board Room coup/brawl led by one of the HP founder’s relatives, who himself was fired a few weeks later.
People twist the facts all the time, but my understanding is that Carly led HP during a difficult time (Dot com bust) made unpopular decisions, and rather than “destroying” HP set it up to be the industry leader it is now....
She wrote those questions days before the debate and she thought she had him dead. That is why she was acting like a five year old on Christmas Eve hoping for a Barbie doll.
...and those are the first to cry “picking on a girl”.
True both the Donald and Ted Cruz have their number.
I would try to take any fishing gear away from that guy (unless I paid for it first). lol
Breitbart’s site just posted this:
If you have surfed Fox News programs this morning I am sure you are discerning what I am discerning.
It is quite obvious a memo with talking points has been shared across the spectrum to news anchors, and to show hosts.
Just watched two programs that were discussing in depth the current status of the GOP race. Both programs were acting as if Trump were not even in the race; hardly even mentioned which was strikingly odd considering the last polls had him doubling his nearest competitor.
The tactic now seems well defined: first they HIT, Now they RUN.
The Memo might have been titled HIT & RUN.
BTTT
I hope and pray that we will vote that way, Kabar.
Because any of those people on that stage, including...gulp...Jeb would be far better than Hillary or Biden.
We just can’t afford 4 more years of radical, insane, democrat control. We might never be able to climb back.
LOL!
Well, I don’t want to spoil anything, and like I said, I’m only in the introduction. But at one point they had Cruz surrounded, literally screaming and yelling at him. And he didn’t give a rip, LOL.
That was back during the mess about the government shutdown. The Repubs WANTED to give Obama everything he demanded, and refused to fight for anything in return.
Also-—they have their little strategies so that they can campaign on what they know the people want to hear, then go back to Washington and totally disregard it all. And they LAUGH and share tips with new members on how to get by with it.
Ted said he only had to keep in mind the fact that they aren’t his bosses-—the people of Texas are.
Point made yesterday 24 million a two edge sword. 24 million saw their fair and balance motto evaporate
I simply hate them but for a different reason, because they are Not conservative and because they are pro-fake conservatives like Jeb. I tell them I hate Fox and they scratch their heads...i say because they hate Cruz and people like him...they wouldn’t understand we real conservatives’ view of things.
Did you watch the interview? If not, try to find YouTube video.
Stephy wasn’t easy on him. He tried to pin Trump to the floor.
Stephy’s mistake was that the more questions he asked Trump about his Megyn quotes (trying to get him to apologize), the more time Trump had to explain his full thought processes at the moment he originally made that comment - and I actually believe him.
PS: This part of the exchange (Stephy’s opening salvo) is too difficult to transcribe. Must listen for yourself & make your own judgements-—as well as the biased lead-up intro into to the Trump interview.
Then Stephy went on about his relationship with women. “I do want to get on about your relationship with women...” quoting one of Trump’s books: “Women have one of the great acts of all time. The smart ones act very needy and feminine and needy, but inside they are real killers. REAL KILLERS, what did you mean by that?.
TRUMP: I say that with great respect...they are amazing executives. If you say that about a man, it is a great honor,...it is so sad [PC].. and if you say that about a woman, it is also a great honor....
Stephy: ...There is this impression that you have had a history of misogynist statements, that you are anti-women...Isn’t this a problem with you?”
TRUMP: I don’t think so at all, George. In the meantime, I am doing very well in the polls with women... I employ thousands of women... and at top levels.
LOL.
Stephy was the one pinned to the floor.
Then Stephy slides in single-payer comment, but instead of letting him answer, he moves to a Trump book quote from 1999-—1999! about a idea to take down the debt...a ONE-TIME wealth tax of 14.25% of people with a net worth of over $10 mil. In the book, Trump said it would pay off in its entirety our debt of $5.7 trillion.
Stephy: You now say you are against that.
[ROFLOL; Stephy: It’s 2015, and Obama, Dems, and Rinos could care less that the debt is $18 tril and will likely be $20 tril by the time Obama is done.]
What Trump said was: “I was willing to do it...that was a long yime ago, but it was a suggestion. I was willing to do it to see the national debt paid off....Today we are soon going to be over 20 tril.”
Not getting anywhere with that, Stephy said: “You were for it then...; you were for single-payer then, you are not for it now. [notice how slickly Stephy went back to his single-payer comment], How can conservatives trust that you are not going to change again?”
TRUMP: R Reagan was a Dem; in fact he was on the liberal side of Dem. He changed and he did a very good job, and I worked with him and he liked me a lot and I liked him a lot...I have evolved and I have evolved very strongly... I am a conservative and I have tremendous support, but I also have support among Dems.
Stephy: And you have supported Dems more recently in 2006...blah, blah, blah....
So how can conservatives trust you when you gave so much money to their opponents?”
TRUMP:....I was a businessman... I supported everybody...I understand the system. Look at Jeb Bush. He was raised $100 mil more...these are people who want something & they are going to get something. With me, I don’t want anybody’s money...I can straighten out the country without having people..special interests come and say, no, no, no, you can’t do that...”
Stephy ends interview.
He did everything BUT go easy on Trump. Stephy couldn’t get any traction, and Trump pinned him to the floor.
In this match, Stephy didn’t even get a single point.
This was Trumps best interview of the day. I left much out but hit all the highlights. It is well worth the time to listen to the exchange if you have time.
Pinging a few others since I decided to do a full recap of this interview for Babylon.
Great thread today.
Kabar had an excellent post on criminal illegals in #259-— a topic I don’t think Trump was questioned on today.
