Interesting that Erickson at same time in the previous election cycle also attacked a leading contender for the GOP nomination.

Well to be fair to Erickson, he was one of the first in bloggerworld to realize that the GOP-E was backstabbing Palin and trying to blame her for all of McCain's failings, and thus he came up with the famous "Leper List."
