Donald Trump vs. Fox News: ‘I got you the highest debate ratings in your history’
CNN Money Article on wtvr.com ^ | 8/7/2015 | CNN Money

Trump’s battles with Kelly will probably further burnish the anchorwoman’s reputation as a tough-as-nails television star. The conservative cable news channel has sought to market Kelly as a strong and independent voice.

Inside Fox, the view at the end of the debate was that all three moderators — Kelly, Bret Baier and Chris Wallace — had fared well, and that Kelly was the stand-out.

Some political observers said that Fox’s post-debate coverage seemed tilted against Trump, partly because of a Frank Luntz focus group, convened by Fox and televised immediately after the debate, that had an anti-Trump tone.

Trump was incensed by the focus group.

“Where did you find that dumb panel” he asked Luntz via Twitter.

He also tweeted that Luntz is “a low class slob who came to my office looking for consulting work and I had zero interest. Now he picks anti-Trump panels!”

Yes, I’ll concede, however what he has done is reveal conservative thinking to the American people....and they like it.

If he blows up, and he probably will...he still has plowed the way for a real conservative.

Very defensive. Kelly s two amigos are trying to run cover for her saying they all worked on questions. Blah blah blah.

Bet she cried!

Trump is rude, thin skinned and would be a horrible president. Can you imagine not being able to disagree with any of his “policies.” He is very fast with the irrational and uncivil comeback.

you are upset because Trump fights back against the evil left and the evil GOPe.

Both parties are literally destroying our Republic.

The time for civil is long past.

If Washington was alive he would be gathering up patriots by the millions and lead them to D.C. to restore our Republic by any means.

If Washington was alive he would say very uncivil things about our current political class(Rats and GOPe.)

Backfired big time on Fox. There’s more than 50,000 negative comments on Foxnews and Megyn Kelly’s Facebook pages.

I forgot to add that my first choice is Ted Cruz. That said, I admire how Trump is definitely taking it to the evil political class.

His father was a huge Reagan supported. His older sister was appointed to the federal bench by Reagan. As such she spoke for her fellow jurist Sam Alito when he was appointed to the SCOTUS.
During his time in military school 13-18 he was anything but liberal
You need to do some research before using terms like “lifetime”

The next debate is the CNN debate in September.

A rating bonanza for CNN. Like Fox, they will benefit from having Trump on the dais. No Trump, no audience.

You, my FRiend, describe my best-case-scnenario (albeit possibly a pipe dream?).

Trump, posing as a Conservative, gets found-out as a poseur, and loses favor. However, his pretend candidacy inadvertently moves most of the GOPer field to the right and Amnesty (what's a nice word for whores?) Rubio and Jeb are abandoned.

Btw Rick Santorum let slip that the evening audience was made up of party faithful who were attending (possibly state) conference. They didn’t have an audience earlier in day because they were attending meetings

Having an audience stacked by the GOPee sure makes sense why FOX played to them

Trump (Dem) will be a third party candidate. He as much as said so in the first debate question.

He will take votes away from whomever the GOP candidate might be in sufficient quantities to ensure a Hillary win.

Just like Perot in 92.

Just like Perot in 96.

This is so, so predictable.

Sadly, my FRiend, this is astonishingly easy to see.

Thanks. Now we know why the cheers for the RINOs and the boos for the non-GOPe candidates. Worthy of the old Soviet apparatchiks.

Wait till people find out that the audience was made up of GOPee faithful attending a conference. Sure explains why FOX did some of things they did. Play to the audience much

I am curious to see what her post-debate ratings are for the first week.

Her ratings are going to suffer because of this. A huge percentage of her viewers support Trump. She then hosts one of the most important presidential debates of all time, and attacks the man?

Only an idiot would torpedo themselves like that.

Isn’t this the season when no ratings are done, and most networks are doing reruns? Maybe she felt she could play the harlot because ratings don’t matter now.

The major television and radio networks track viewer/listener numbers CONSTANTLY, no matter the time of year. Fox is going to see the results of Kelly's smarmy attacks on Trump in real time - and they won't be good.

Roger Ailes and Rupert Murdock gambled wrongly on the first debate, and you can bet they'll be the first ones to know it.

You miss heard him. He said he would not close his options He has repeatedlybsaid if Gop is fair he will stay with party

If you can find Rick Santorum on Greta tonight you will understand why. The Gopee stole the nomination or at least manipulated it so Romnoy won. Find it, listen and then looked up how Florida was manipulated so Newt woukdnt take it.

We all complain about Gopee. Here is someone willing to take them on and you will not stand with him.

Agreed. And I bet the audience was substantially younger than it would have been otherwise. That's a lot more people being exposed to the other candidates.

Did you see her fake smile when the audience kept applauding Trump? She knew it had blown up in her face.

This was Kelly’s way of burnishing her cred to move into a network anchor chair. The bucks are bigger, and she’s not staying on cable forever.
