Cruz was infinitely better than Trump so what does that say about Drudge’s poll?
To me it says, Trump has his finger on the pulse of what America wants DONE. I believe Trump & Cruz have some sort of agreement (from their meeting last week.)

Off the top of my head, I think it says that People were pissed about The Fox News Commentators conspiring to take Trump out with their obvious attack questions.
They also shortchanged Cruz and it was just as obvious.
He is the sharpest tool in the shed and they know it.

A vote for Trump was a vote against the moderators in my case LOL!
But, yes, IMO Cruz and Carson were the standouts, Huck runner up.
I liked Cruz tonight....loved him, but I voted for Trump in the Drudge poll because I wanted to poke the eye of the Republican establishment. So the Drudge poll does not exactly reflect reality.
A lot of people have lost their bearing. Instead of thinking, they are reacting. It's disappointing.
It says that you saw the debate through a very different lens than the vast majority of those watching tonight.
I don't disagree with your analysis, but The People are hungering for something that no one but Trump is delivering right now. That's why he's winning.
