Bernie Won’t Be President, but He’s Still Bad News for the GOP [Sanders leads all Republicans]

Many headlines over the weekend were dedicated to a CNN/ORC poll showing Donald Trump leading the Republican pack in the race for the GOP presidential nomination and Hillary Clinton maintaining real but shrinking leads against all of the top Republican contenders.

One detail, however, got less attention than it perhaps deserved. Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, currently Clinton’s most viable rival for the Democratic nomination, wins in head-to-head competitions against all three Republican frontrunners.

Among all respondents to the poll, Sanders, a self-described socialist who has been running to Clinton’s left, beats former Florida governor Jeb Bush 48 percent to 47. That win is well within the poll’s three percent margin of error, but Sanders crushes billionaire Donald Trump 58 percent to 38 percent and notches a statistically significant win over Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, 48 to 42.

What makes Sanders’ showing particularly impressive is that the same poll shows that more than half of Americans either don’t know who he is or don’t know enough about him to have formed an opinion.

When asked their opinion of Sanders, 23 percent of respondents reported a favorable opinion of him and 22 percent reported an unfavorable opinion. However, 38 percent said they had “never heard” of him and another 13 percent didn’t know enough about him to form an opinion.

It will play out great for him. With all the talk about “1%-ers” and “CEO exorbitant pay” it’s almost a can’t miss.

Of course, it should never happen here. This kind of thing is more fit for Venezuela but that won’t mean anything for the idiots in the media and the low information voters. For them it’ll be “bleed the rich? Get more money for me? Where do I sign?”

This poll is a joke. It's probably a poll of adults, not likely voters or even registered voters. They must have gone down to skid row to interview half the respondents.

If he honestly and openly proposes and defends this and WINS... this is a RED FLAG... it tells me that America has reached the tipping point and is not longer the great country it once was.

Two wins for Obama didn't tell you enough?

What Bernie Sanders, the Socialist has in mind...

How would he handle illegal immigration?

ANS: IGNORE IT. America needs to redistribute her wealth and what better way than to offer it to the tired, the poor, the teeming masses... ( and he’ll quote Emma Lazarus for that )

How would he handle Iran, North Korea, Russia?

ANS: America should be more like North Korea and Russia, not less.

What would happen to ObamaCare under Bernie? Would it get bigger?

ANS: SINGLE PAYER

Where is Bernie on Religious Freedom?

ANS: No more tax exemption for churches. They need to learn to share the wealth.

Where is Bernie on Homosexual indoctrination in elementary schools?

ANS: What we have for Vermont is what we will have for the country.

Where is Bernie on gang warfare in major cities?

ANS: Give them space to vent and it will die down on its own.

Where is Bernie on the War on Drugs

ANS: Hey, if I am pro-choice on abortion, why should I not be pro-choice on what people want to take? My life, my body.

Sanders is not well known, he is just a name with a D next to it. Very few even know he is a self described Socialist. This poll means nothing. If he gets the nod he will be exposed for what he is to everybody paying any attention at all.

He also has a grumpy old man image and image is extrememly important to LIV’s who actually decide elections. They will go for the younger more affable candidate.

I don’t see Sanders winning the prez but then again look at who we have now.....anything is possible in this fallen country where torturing murdering and selling the body parts of babies is considered no big deal.

Head to head matchups at this point are not valid because voters are still thinking primaries, and many times the view is, "If my guy doesn't win, I ain't voting for anyone else." This is especially true with this large GOP field.

If Sanders gets the nomination and you see anything like this with ANY GOP candidate not named Bush, yeah, we're in trouble.

Who cares?

At this point, the only thing the polls are good for is to predict who will be in the Fox News debate tomorrow. Everything else is baloney.

Most of those answers represent an easy triple for either Trump or Cruz. Taken together, they lead to a romp.

Only about 25-30% of the country is hard-core socialists.

When you live in a gilded prison i.e. Mom’s basement or your old bedroom then one politician looks much like another. If you can vicariously hit out at those you blame for your dead-end predicament so much the better.

Bernie Sanders leading the Republican field? Why should we be surprised?

The GOPe has utterly and totally destroyed the Republican and Conservative “brands”.

The American people view Republicans as corrupt, incompetent, buffoonish hypocrites. They think Republicans are a bunch of smear artists, that having failed to take down President Obama, now have their sights set on sinking the first Woman President. When, in actuality, the GOPe just wants to sabotage Ted Cruz and Donald Trump.

The GOPe would rather Hillary win the presidency than lose control of the Republican Party money and apparatus.

If you are not a big corporate executive campaign contributor, a K Street lobbyist, or a member of the Country Club set, the GOPe does not care about you!

A few writers on both sides have mentioned the J-word.

The universal foam-at-the-mouth hatred of Israel among the idiot class should put paid to his chances regardless of his age or lefty views.

Rush explained yesterday why the DNC won’t let Bernie get the nod. Dems give platitudes about being anti-busisness, but in reality they thrive off corporate cronyism.

Bernie actually means what he says about the evils of business. Won’t fly with the Dem establishment.

That poll also reveals just how toxic the name “Bush” has really become.

Perhaps Jeb will change his surname to Hernandez?

This is how the “propaganda” works! It happens early and its the motto operand for the Liberal (Socialist) Media Complex. This is how they have been able to keep NY and CA solidly BLUE States since the 1980’s! This is straight out of the Marxist handbook: 1) put out polls, early, that show the Liberal/Progressive/etc...(i.e. ALWAYS Democrat) candidate well ahead of the Republican to make it seem inevitable. 2) Make the “evil” Republican a caricature of backwardness, 3) Keep showing the Race out of reach of the Republican so as to discourage any potential hope for the base. When election time comes around- the polls are always closer than they were but the net result is ALWAYS a Democrat win. It’s only in certain instances (i.e. once every 10-12 yrs) that a Rep will come close enough to “shock” the establishment in these predominantly BLUE states. Take a look at MD, MA, NJ, etc...in recent elections (1st Terms) in which the Republican Governors were almost ALWAYS behind their Democratic rival up to election day! Same thing happened to Rudy Giuliani and Pataki when they won their first terms! My suggestions is two fold- 1) Select a nominee EARLY and 2) once you coalesce around a nominee try to use different polling and have a REAL ground network and try to black out the national polls among supporters! If I’m not mistaken I believe Reagan was slightly behind Carter weeks before the election. The best scenario though, given the rampent corruption in the MSM, is that the Republican nominee would have to be at least 5 point ahead of the Democrat nationally and that there be major signs of panic in the liberal circles leading up to election in order to assure the win in 2016!

48% of 1000 people is not the same as 47% of 2,000,000.
