A majority of blacks in the United States - more than 3 out of 5 - say they or a family member have personal experience with being treated unfairly by the police, and their race is the reason why.
This information, from a survey conducted by the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, comes as the Michael Brown shooting in Ferguson, Missouri, approaches its first anniversary and the nation continues to grapple with police-related deaths of black Americans.
African-Americans said they felt especially targeted by the police. Half of black respondents, including 6 in 10 black men, said they personally had been treated unfairly by police because of their race, compared to 3 percent of whites. Another 15 percent said they knew of a family member who had been treated unfairly by the police because of their race.

A sobering and long list.
And me too! Biggest criminals of my life were dirty Chi cops. Lied and falsified facts, arrested the victim (me), let the attackers go (known criminals with pages of rap sheets), cop intentionally perjured herself in court, judge conveniently believed her, and I was screwed. BTW, I'm white and was an executive of a company. Race and socioeconomic status has little to do with bad cops.
I might add.....
Finish high school
Get and keep a job
Speak the kings English....not like you have a bunch of marbles in your "mouf".
Think before acting
Use descriptive adjectives instead of profanity
Stay celebate until marriage (or at least use birth control)
Get married ONCE, and stay married
Don't hang out with people that don't do any of the above
When you interact with the police, be polite and compliant. (Speaking the kings English and using nice words such as "yes/no sir/mam, please, thank you, etc" will get you A VERY LONG WAY in life.
The other day somebody made a comment like that over at the treehouse site. He/she was told by the moderator there that it was unacceptable to make such generalizations about blacks. I was surprised because blacks claim that all the time.
...treated unfairly by police because of their race, compared to 3 percent of whites.
Right. The treatment isn't about race. It's about power and ego of the cop.
Half of blacks are ignorant and some even mentally ill. How else can we explain this. How about this: Half of cops are ignorant and some even mentally ill.
That's what you get in a field where there is an upper IQ limit, cushy pay and pensions, no financial connection between performance and pay, no random drug tests and a republican law and order cheer squad.
Thank you. You post is spot on that’s all there really needs to be said or done.
IF the premise is true that most blacks are treated unfairly - then you pointed out the obvious and simple solution.
YEA I’M WHITE TOO.
i was stopped on the pa.pike gave the cop new mexico dl.he said they did not honor dl.from another county.
We should just start shooting criminals on sight. That would be the ultimate fairness. I am sick and tired of criminals making the rest of us suffer. Theft, drugs, assaults of all kinds, and murder. Just shoot them. That’s going to teach a lot of the rest of them to behave. Yeah, yeah, I know, constitution. I can dream, yes?
Flippin rock-solid logic, right there.
I can think of two cases where I was treated unfairly by a cop. Both were speeding ticket cases. One I took to traffic court and the cop just lied on the stand. Of course, the judge was on his side.
But none of that was because I was white. It was because these two cops were jerks.
if you were to subtract black crime from the US crime statistics, we’d be the most law-abiding nation on the planet by quite a margin. Even the Europeans would look bad in comparison.
From a group of people who think being required to show ID to vote is unfair, I’m taking this with an inordinately large grain of salt.
