Real-estate mogul Donald Trump is absolutely crushing his GOP presidential rivals - both in polls, and when it comes to Google searches.
On Tuesday, Google Trends published an interactive county-by-county map of US searches for the various Republican candidates.
And Trump by far appears to be drawing the most interest in almost every state. His color code, red, sweeps the country from Alaska to Florida.
The one exception to Trump's apparent dominance, interestingly, is in Wisconsin, where local Gov. Scott Walker (R) leads many of the counties. No other Republican candidate holds his or her home state against Trump.
The results aren't necessarily surprising: Trump has had a near-monopoly of presidential media coverage and has led in most of the recent polls of the Republican primary.
Google pegged the results to the upcoming GOP debate on Thursday.

Novelty and name recognition will only carry Trump so far...eventually he'll have to tell folks in detail what 'something terrific' really is.
I finally agreed with an observation by George Will of Trump yesterday, when he noted that people are supporting Trump because they're tired of the "suffocating PC and synthetic outrage" expressed by MSM and the punditry every time Trump speaks his mind.
I would add that we're also tired of career politicians! In fact, we're damn sick and tired of career politicians who say wonderful things in election years, but never follow through once we return them to Washington, DC.
I'm coming around to believe that perhaps this government actually needs a successful businessman at the helm. The career pols have proved they can't handle our money. $18 Trillion debt and growing by the minute!
The "concerns" about his candidacy have to do with his allegiance to the Republican Party, because he was previously a registered democrat and has donated to both parties. Allegiance to the Republican Party...lol. What party? McConnell's party? Boehner's party?
Also whether or not he's a conservative, or conservative enough and on which issues.
I know this for certain: Mr. Donald Trump loves our country. He doesn't need the job, and there for a while I wasn't sure that he wanted the job.
I'm sure now. He's all in. He's using his own money and he doesn't need the grief that comes with running for POTUS. Plus, his life is on the line and he's providing his own security, too.
I can't begin to imagine the threats he must be receiving.

I have read two of his books and the running theme throughout both is loyalty. Loyalty to his family, friends, and country.
I see that as a core value.
He is not an ideologue but that doesn't mean he has no ideals driving him.

You see the same thing I do: a government full of Clinton hold-outs who are going to retire/die in office, and know (not believe) they are invulnerable.

Usually a GOP candidate says something (truthful) and the lib media lose their minds and say “ARE YOU GOING TO APOLOGIZE FOR THAT????” and like the cowardly sheep they are (except for Cruz) they go ahead and apologize.
Trump tells them to F*** off and they are not used to that.

Yes it is. This is starting to look like the Reagan election. I remember the pundits saying an actor has no business running, that he's too strident, that he'll provoke the Soviets, etc. Reagan won.
If Trump wins I think we can look forward to similar persons becoming prime minister in the UK, Canada, and Australia.
Despite challenging a sitting president in '76, Reagan didn't catch fire in '79 until the end of the primary.
Trump is much different from Reagan. Reagan was a staunch conservative with a track record and coherent philosophy.
Trump's track record is mixed, and it's hard to discern a philosophy. His positions seem to be ad hoc, which isn't surprising considering his background as a businessman.
The jury's out, as far as I'm concerned, and I'm disappointed that he's more popular than other great candidates, like Cruz, Walker, Jindal, Carson and more.
But there has to be something to the Trump phenomena that I'm missing. It could have to do with his boldness, courage in dealing with the media, and his plain speaking. OTOH, it could simply be that people already know him and are comfortable with his persona.
That's what I've been hoping to see.

I lived in So CA, San Diego to be exact, but I couldn’t vote for Governor Reagan until he ran for his second term in ‘70, given that the voting age was still 21, “way back then.”
My parents both voted for Reagan, just like you.
It seemed that almost everyone was thrilled to get rid of G. Edmund Brown or was it Edmund G. Brown? I remember he went by the name of “Pat.”
