Sorry to hear this, his work should be read by everyone
who has an interest in the history of communism and it’s
impact on us today.
Note. The struggle is still not over, we must fight
this everyday.
Who will be the seminal historian for Obama’s misrule?
'The Great Terror', along with all of Solzhenitsyn's 'Gulag Archipelago' books should be required reading for all high school students.
Too bad he won’t be around to chronicle the crumbling of the US and the rise of its new totalitarian government.
Here is the second sentence of Robert Conquest’s “The Harvest of Sorrow: Soviet Collectivization and the Terror-Famine”
“We may perhaps put this in perspective in the present case by saying that in the actions here recorded about twenty human lives were lost for, not every word, but every letter, in this book.”
That sentence represents 3,040 lives. The book is 411 pages long.
Watching Obama probably finished him off.
They didn't use it.
Soviet Misrule? Misrule!!!???
GENOCIDE!
(And this from the WSJ. What will the Guardian, NYT, WaPo, etc call it?)
RIP, Dr. Conquest. Your job as an historian was exceptionally well done.
RIP.
He was a great historian. I urge everybody interested in the horrors of Soviet communism to read his books. And also the Putin bootlickers here.
He estimated that under Stalin, 20 million people perished from famines, Soviet labor camps and executionsa toll that eclipsed that of the Holocaust.

No, that can’t be! Walter Duranty of the NYT said that Uncle Joe Stalin was a great guy.
Dr. Conquest will be missed. His books on the Soviet Union are excellent and are spectacularly good arguments for the 2nd Amendment.
The Rape of Nanking reinforces his titles.
