Your position is as fatuous as blaming the burglary victim because he didn’t lock his doors.
Furthermore, “The law, common
courtesy and common
sense,” are subjects the police are specifically trained to manipulate for the purposes of securing arrests and convictions, and are therefore specious bordering on disingenuous as a guide for dealing with law enforcement.
Your analogy makes no sense.
The taper was not a victim of anything. He behaved like an idiot and if he had another officer, who didn’t remain extremely calm and who instead escalated the situation when given ample legal grounds to do so, he could have been shot to death and the shooting would have been 100% legally justified.
It looks like we've almost managed to find a situation where everyone agrees that a cop was decidedly out of line. Just one hold-out on this one.
