According to the video, the sonic boom will only happen in the vertical period of the flight where it will go out horizontally to the ground and not effect others...............

Considering Airbus’ record of mechanical reliability, think i will pass on flying one of these if I live that long.
To: Red Badger
That’s the plan..anyway...I wouldn’t bet a few billion on it though, nor the envirowackos trying to shut it down...You know, somebody in the landing path at O’Hare will say it scares their cats, or their petunias won’t grow...

It appears they didn’t. I found references to this on answers.com and few other places.
From what I read, the cruise line tried to get get the families of the men who played music on deck to pay for their uniforms.
Ouch.
Evidently some reimbursement for lost items was made.
I wouldn’t put a lot of faith in these answers, but this is the scuttle-butt I found.

Semper Fi, but I don’t claim to have been something I wasn’t. I did not serve in the armed forces, and I make that very clear if the subject comes up. I respect the men who did too much to play it any other way.

It’s a term I picked up on over time. I may have heard it from someone who did serve. Sometimes it fits rather well.
Take care...
