Trump: Shut Down the Government to Defund Planned Parenthood

The Republican Party's front- running presidential candidate wants congressional leaders to shut down the federal government in order to defund Planned Parenthood.

Donald Trump said the Republican-led Congress should take the plunge, appearing Monday on conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt's show, where Trump was told the “only way to get rid of Planned Parenthood money” is to “shut the government down” when money expires on Sept. 30.

“Would you support that?” Hewitt asked.

“I can tell you this: I would,” Trump responded.

“If the Republicansstuck together, you could have done it with Obamacare also. But the Republicans decided not to stick together. And they left a few people out there, like Ted Cruz,” Trump said, referring to the Texas senator and rival Republican presidential candidate who pushed hardest for the 2013 shutdown, and is deploying similar rhetoric now over Planned Parenthood.

“If they stuck together they would've won that battle. I think you have to in this case also, yes,” Trump added.

I think it’s going to be a Trump/Cruz ticket. Then in 8 years we can have a Cruz/West ticket.

I'm good with that.

The whimp caucus on the right knows damn good and well that when Trump says shut it down — He will shut it down and not stand in the middle of the room and wet himself like a little girl the first minute a little heat is turned up — Not like wussy’s we have now.

If it’s strategic, and if it’s conservative, Ted Cruz likely said it first.

7/27/2015

Calling next week’s Senate roll call to defund Planned Parenthood a “legislative show vote,” GOP firebrand Ted Cruz said Republicans should do everything they can to eliminate federal money for the group — even if it means a government shutdown fight this fall.

Hopefully FReepers can see Trump's admiration for Cruz.

I like Trump but this won’t work.
Nothing is going to change with the GOP until McCain, Bonehead and TurtleGuy are gone!
Not out of leadership but GONE.

I saw a pink taxi at the airport earlier today, “get me another taxi, I’m not riding in that baby killer pink taxi!!”
It had breast cancer awareness decals on, same as planned parent “hoods!”

well maybe the best way to get rid of the GOP elites (Graham, McCain, Boehner, McConnell, et al) is to elect an outsider who is not part of the power establishment. Perhaps Trump should be the one. He owes nothing to the elites, perhaps he can rid us of these hacks and give us control of our party back, so that we can nominate and elect good candidates (such as Ted Cruz) who do represent us. Perhaps the Trump candidacy is the first step to take in this direction. Perhaps, if we do not have a President Trump first, we will never have a President Cruz. Maybe the best way to rid ourselves of these entrenched corrupt politicians is to get behind Trump and make sure he wins, not by a plurality, but WINS each and every caucus and primary. That way, in 8 years, we can have Cruz or Walker, or any other good guy who does a good job of recognizing and representing the base of the GOP, instead of despising us and lying to us.

Those who voted against shutting down Planned Parenthood will have to answer to the Lord for their disgusting vote.

They need to heed a few lines from Job. They not only lack wisdom they are not even seeking it. And as far as departing from evil. . .they are mired in it. Let’s face it, unfortunately they have been given over to a reprobate mindset.

27Then He saw it and declared it;He established it and also searched it out.
28“And to man He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; And to depart from evil is understanding.’” Job 28:27-28

I don’t think Ted would go for that. VP is such a zero job. He’s my first choice (so I’m still holding out) but he would be a great AG or Supreme Court pick. The problem is... he’s needed in soooo many places. Maybe we can clone him.

THis is red meat, but I think it’s the wrong tactic.

I would leave PP alone for now, and prosecute the organ sellers, especially if and after an audit shows where the money was going. If it was going into PP general funds (which I doubt—no one would be talking about Lamborghinis), heads can roll at the administrative level. If it was being pocketed, heads can roll at the individual level.

That way, you get the moral and electoral high ground. Even many PP supporters would be grossed out by the profiteering. If action against PP is seen as using this as an excuse, you’ll rally the pro-abortionists against you at the voting booth. Why not make them allies? The only thing we know now that we didn’t know a couple weeks ago is the organ trade, and the details of how it is carried out have not yet seen daylight.

No; and the BABIES murdered by Planned Parenthood never saw daylight either. - If only black people could see that PP is the brainchild of a woman who was overjoyed at the prospect of eliminating the “inferior” black race.
