Thomas Sowell is one of my heroes but he has yet to catch onto the deeper current at work in the American electorate.
The revolution has begun...and Trump is gonna lead it.
I usually agree with Sowell...very smart guy. But on this I believe he is wrong.I think Trump can not only with the GOP nomination and the presidency in a Reaganesque landslide.

Well hell, that same arithmetic works against all the other Republican candidates too, except they poll even lower than Trump.
Who do you want as the candidate, Thomas? Because it ain't Trump.
So, I guess they got Sowell working for the moderates now, too. In a sense, he’s correct in thinking that a lot of the GOP doesn’t really want to make many changes and that they just want to hold high offices. But, Trump is right in that the country needs to make some big changes.
I think calling his talk irresponsible is grossly unfair. If you look back in history at elections, you find all sorts of blunt comments. We have become too delicate to hear the truth. Even Republicans are becoming too emotional and sensitive, hence the phenomenon of the serial apologizers. In my opinion the worst thing a candidate can do is lie and speak out of both sides of his mouth.
Sowell gets it. I’m a conservative and will definitely stay home if Trump gets the nomination. There is no way I could vote for him based on his past support for gun-control, abortion, Obama support, immigration support, mostly a democrat statement etc. Cecil may change his spots but he is still a’lying.
So do I. But he has a pre-determined agenda and Trump doesn't fit in. Unfortunately, Sowell's become another out-of-touch elite who isn't listening.
I believe Trump could be the president also because of what Sowell pointed out that I put in bold letters.
I like what Trump is doing, injecting some truth that wasn’t first filtered by consultants, polls, and the GOPe, but still not sure I trust him 100% because of that bull in a china shop factor.
However, he’s better than all the rats and a a bunch of the GOP candidates especially Bush. To me this is We The People trying to take back our country from the 1% and interesting that our leader, for now, is a billionaire real estate developer.
I agree - Sowell does get it. I’m glad Trump is out there stirring the pot but when it’s time to vote my preferred choice is still Cruz.
I don’t buy his ‘cause a baby made my friend happy’ pro-life conversion nor do I buy his anti amnesty position after his ‘let the good ones stay’ claim.
You’re absolutely right. Good work!
What is Sowell smoking? Trump leads every poll and shows no sign of slowing down. Of course Sowell might be refering to the fix coming into play for “The Twig” but Bush will never win nor will any establishment RINO.
Nor do I. What you call the bull in a china shop factor, I call the loose cannon factor.
But at least Trump is aimed in generally the right direction.
Its not just republicans that have this attitude. Today family that is apolitical/independant stopped by. They (she is Hispanic) have been energized by Trumps message. For once a person is saying what they are thinking!
Thursday will be MOST interesting!
Y’all are wrong about Trump. He’s a Democrat stalking-horse, leading the conservative wing of the Republican party down the road to irrelevance.
Truthfully, I’m not sure who benefits most from Trump’s shenanigans, Hillary or Jeb.
Me too. But given his past I can't vote for Trump. He is no more an ideological conservative based on his past record as Bush, Rubio, Graham, Christie or Hucklebee. I'm willing to listen to most of the rest debate and convince me to vote for them.
