Trump says GOP candidates who went to Koch event are ‘PUPPETS’! (Ted Cruz?)
Twitter The Right Scoop ^ | 8/2/2015 | Posted by soopermexican Staff

The Trumpinator went on the march via phone through the Sunday morning shows, and then he tweeted this to mock the candidates who went to a Koch Brothers event this weekend:

"I wish good luck to all of the Republican candidates that traveled to California to beg for money etc. from the Koch Brothers. Puppets?"

BOOM! I guess. The five who went to the event were Ted Cruz, Jeb! Bush, Scott Walker, Marco Rubio and Carly Fiorina. This is the advantage that Trump has – as a billionaire he can fund his own campaign while the other candidates have to necessarily go on fundraising trips.

Anyone bothered that he’s taking the Harry Reid tactic against Republicans?

That about sums it up.

Trump is now being a “nice guy” from his interviews over the past few days and let’s admit, the others (in general, not every single person) were not nice to him. So, now, I think there is a degree of civil discussion if it holds up.

Trump is behaving like a child. He lashes out indiscriminately and says some pretty bizarre things. Personally, I like Carly, but it looks like she won’t even be in the debates. No doubt the Dems will seize on that and say it’s because she is a woman.

You didn’t read the linked article in Post #27, right?

If Cruz was as malleable as some suggest, he would have had no reason to call McConnell a liar on the Senate floor, and indict both parties and the monied interest along with Mitch.

Cruz, if he wanted, could just join the club and he could have a cushy life- but, instead, he’s fighting the club.

If one doesn’t want to vote for Cruz, that’s fine. But, there’s no reason to question the integrity of guy who is burning all his bridges in Washington, for the purpose of destroying the DC elite.

And, that’s what Trump’s done here. Cruz defended Trump when no one else did-— If Trump wants to distinguish himself from Cruz on issues, that’s certainly proper. To attack him personally by insinuating that Cruz is a “puppet”- well, that’s Trump’s character flaw that will be his undoing.

Telling it like it is and telling the truth- are not the equivalent of indiscriminately running off one’s mouth with perceived indifference and impunity.

The Koch Brothers support amnesty, homo marriage, and abortion. They are not even libertarian! The Left hates them simply because they don’t donate to them.

" If Trump wants to distinguish himself from Cruz on issues"

Where the money comes from and what those folks want is a major issue in the campaign of 2016.

I don't control that.

I think Cruz is a fine man and would make, at least, a fine POTUS.

I don't see Cruz attacking Trump or any other candidate unless they attack him and even then he might ignore them and stay on message

Cruz and Trump are the only two I see myself voting for at this point. But you’d do better to take a page from your candidate and not go attacking Trump and his supporters here.

You’re not helping Cruz.

Cruz BTW certainly lied to us when he was pitching ObamaTrade, so I don’t get so excited about him call McConnell a liar.

The Kochs have been funding candidates on the right for decades and without their help many wouldn’t have been elected.

Intelligence is in short supply around here.

I agree.

And those candidates all share the same position on the donors' Minimum Essential Issues.

Every time.

They are not onerous issues for Republicans to support. There's a well-developed story that goes with all of them and they are generally "pro business".

But I would contend they are not necessarily pro American.

>> Does anyone really think the Kochs and cohorts give over $1bil each cycle and ask for nothing in return? <<

What I think is that the Koch brothers give billions to candidates and organizations that promote free-market policies.

And of course they expect something in return, namely, that the recipients of their gifts will continue to support and promote free-market capitalism.

What’s not to like?

Yep. The idea that traditional libertarians (as opposed to the doper liberaltarians popular now) could genuinely want lower taxes and less government, and yet have no hatred of Biblical values, seems to have been lost.

And civil wars often make strange bedfellows.

I’ve never seen “irate” used as a verb before.
Is it a regional thing?

Of course they’ll come up. But the question is-Can Trump deflect any kind of criticism that the left throws at him? I think he has proved that, like with the McCain comment.

"What’s not to like?"

1. Open Borders

2. Unrestrained immigration

3. "Free Trade" with mercantilist countries that don't even pretend to offer the same in return, resulting in the largest Capital Stock Adjustment in history since the fall of Rome.

“The Koch Brothers support amnesty, homo marriage, and abortion. They are not even libertarian!”

You might want to acquaint yourself with what libertarians believe before you start declaring who is one and who is not.

Trump's net worth is open for debate. I've seen figures between $2.7 billion and $10 billion.

Does everyone really think he's willing to spend a billion of his own cash, or more, to fund his run? I don't believe it. He can stay above the fray for now, and act superior to those who need OPM, but at some point he will need/want to raise money. JMHO, of course.

This would be the Koch event that Trump’s representatives asked that he be included in but were turned down?

You can claim all criticism comes from the left if you want but its still lying.

Personally I’d like to believe conservatives are above such things but support for Trump shows conservatives to be uncomfortably similar to Obama voters.
