"Meet The Press" moderator Chuck Todd hosts Jerry Seib, Helene Cooper, Kathleen Parker and Chris Matthews to discuss Donald Trump's "rope-a-dope" strategy of being entirely reasonable and making the other Republicans look ridiculous when they attack him.
*snip*
Chris Matthews closes the discussion: "I think it is deeper than anger, I think there is a sense of betrayal among the best and the brightest, that we have given the country away on the border, on debt, on jobs. They feel like they have been betrayed by the elite and Donald Trump, ironically, is fighting the elite here, and the little guys is rooting for him."
"And the more we attack him," says Chuck Todd, "the more powerful he gets."

“And the more we attack him,” says Chuck Todd,
Very revealing statement there...
Oh my, this made me laugh. They used to line up to beg money from him.
Coulda fooled me......who knew Chuck Todd was that insightful?
They are slowly realizing the effect. They have yet to realize the reason. It will come to them eventually, but it will be too late.
Hilarious!
My first thought as well - Dead Giveaway.
LoL Trump got these clowns coming and going. They don’t know what’s up or what’s down.
Their could be so many reason(s), I'd love to hear your take on it. I am curious if it is one, a host of them, and I'd love to hear them from all FR-ers.
Then the obvious answer is STFU about him and he will lose his power?
Umm, acting reasonable? Only a liberal would imagine that throwing jobs to countries around the world while at the same time stabbing the US worker in the back is something unreasonable to comment on.
They can't be silent about him because he's news and ratings. And if they stop attacking him, it will look like they are tacitly endorsing him or at the very least accepting that he is presidential material.
Should the rest of the candidates just let the billionaire $$$ roll over them?
Is it right for him to call them puppets? Yes - some are, like Bush, Walker, Christie. Some of the rest are not qualified to be President of this great country which is on the verge of cascading off the cliff.
These ‘Americans’ live in a cloistered DC environment of pampered excess, access and pandering by elected DC politicians. They like having their butts kissed by RINOs, liberals, and they even savor the odd chance to have a stupid conservative on who can’t defend himself like Cruz, or one who won’t unapologetically fight back like Trump.
They are intellectual cowards who huddle behind the moniker of “conservative viewpoint” but actually represent appeasement and submission. They crave for attention and acclaim amongst themselves and are entirely satisfied to featherbed their holdings for that dacha, that board position, that book, that university lecture class.
In actuality, they are perhaps some of the worst scum this country has created because their spiel pretends to be on normal America’s side but has absolutely no idea what that really is.
They don’t have a f@cking idea what an ear of corn looks like before the kernels go in a can, the only chicken they’ve ever eaten is so far removed from plucking it ain’t funny. Sh!t, I bet most of them don’t even drive or has ever pumped their own gas.....they’re asstards, frankly.
Of all the lieberal talking heads seems like Chris Matthews is seeing more of reality lately than his counterparts.
True...They have lost the debate even before it starts...Their positions are all the polar opposite of Trump's...They can't possibly defend any of their positions while Trump is sitting there...
Of course the media will portray it differently...
LOL, why don’t you tell us how you really feel?
Chuck Todd and Chrissy Matthews finally get a clue. LOL!
