Entropy, Trump I believe is sincere and wants to do what he can to help make America great. Schwarzenegger had the same sincere hopes for my native California.

There is a LOT of comparison between Trump and Arnold. How many blockbuster movies (don't look now, but those are all products that have the Schwarzenegger name) that won the hearts of Americans did Trump make? No -- Trump developed golf courses and big buildings!

The dif is that Arnold came here from Austria as a young man with not much but a decent business head, dreams, and self-discipline, whereas Trump was BORN the son of a wealthy businessman.

Schwarzenegger pulled himself up from his own bootstraps (which Trump did not), he was a pretty good businessman before he became a movie star, he was every bit as much an entertainer as Trump -- and he said things I wanted to hear, he could win whereas the great conservative Tom McClintock would probably lose even if every registered Republican in California voted for him -- Arnold's big draw was his cross-over appeal. I voted for him enthusiastically because I believed in him the same way you do in Trump -- his track record of very large-scale successes, and I wanted to ignore his leftist tendencies, so I did, and it was dumb of me. It was naïve of me.

The accomplishments were different in details, but the same in that they demonstrated, they proved, a very great ability to achieve difficult goals. Arnold did it, Trump did it, but Arnold wasn't born into it.

I see Trump supporters, their hopeful trust, their projection of their own politics onto a guy who looks and sounds fabulous -- and I see myself back when Arnold was running for Governor and I happily voted for him only to be disillusioned.

Yes, there are HUGE comparisons between the two, most quintessentially, BOTH are famous in America because of being entertainers via pop media.

You must...and this is very important...try to understand the difference between a business which operates in the real world main street economy and Hollywood-or-politics from Washington DC.

The latter are far removed from any sense of reality.
So long as that difference is ignored, we will have a declining living standards for middle class America.
Arnold had zero experience in running any real world main street business which must survive in the dog eat dog world of capitalism.

Trump is not my ideal candidate. He has a checkered past on many rock ribbed conservative issues. But he seems to have evolved in the right direction. The best thing going for him is he keeps repeating that his main goal is to make America Great again. Only a hard nosed businessman who has survived in the dog eat dog world of main street economy has a chance to improve American middle class. A professional politician is never going to be able to do it, because we have sunk too far down already. The national debt is astronomical, free stuff from the government is astronomical, taxes and regulations on businesses are excessive.

Only a man who is not afraid to say “YOU ARE FIRED” might have a chance to change the direction around. Smooth speeches from professional politicians are incapable to make America Great again. Just my honest opinion.
