This week, the Republican-led House passed a bill, the “PASSPORT REVOCATION ACT,” to give President Barack Obama the power to revoke or deny passports to individuals who his administration SUSPECTS may be affiliated with foreign terrorist organizations.
While the bill sounds sensible, in that preventing possible radicals from fleeing into the arms of the Islamic State group makes sense, it gives Obama the right to deprive Americans of their constitutional rights without a jury trial.
The bill allows the government to effectively ROB you of your passport if it THINKS you are guilty, regardless of whether you are actually guilty.
“This means the SECRETARY OF STATE CAN, unilaterally, with NO DUE PROCESS AND NO OVERSIGHT, deprive an American citizen the privileges of citizenship, thus relegating him to INTERNAL EXILE INSIDE the United States — a practice most recently PERFECTED IN THE SOVIET UNION,” Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity chief Daniel McAdams explained to reporters.
This should horrify all Americans, especially given that we live under a president who seems CONTENT TO DETAIN SUSPECTS WITHOUR DUE PROCESS and even kill American citizens overseas by drone strike.
And worse, PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA SEEMS INCREASINGLY TO DEFINE ANYONE WHO DISAGREES WITH HIM AS AN "EXTREMIST OR “RADICAL.”
Perhaps the saddest part about this is that our spineless Republican legislators just handed this power to Obama with little debate.
Some, like bill sponsor Rep. Ted Poe, even defended it on the basis that it will allegedly “help law enforcement locate” potential terrorists (H/T The New American).
Actually, all the bill does is DEGRADE the U.S. Constitution and the liberties guaranteed by it. And at the rate Obama is going, with the help of the GOP, the Constitution will eventually wind up being nothing but a page of parchment that reads, “Made in America.”
Americans can be sure that without a serious effort to rein in the attacks on the U.S. Constitution and the liberties it protects, the lawless extremism pouring out of Washington, D.C., will continue to accelerate.

Go to Home Depot and approach one of the people there to do the work that Americans ‘won’t do’. He can tell you where to get the papers you need to move about freely. You can even choose a new name. < /sarc >

I spent a great deal of time in Russia in the 90’s and they talked about this. For them it was inside the USSR. So they could not travel around Russia without applying for and getting permission.
This is really scary.
We already have a form of that here in Caliph-ornia.
You get stopped at the border and get stared at with dagger eyes by a jack-booted government thug demanding to know if you're bringing fruits or vegetables into the state.

Sigh. No. Congress did not hand any power over to Obama. At this point all that has happened is that the House of Representative has passed a bill and sent it to the Senate. I have no idea what its chances are in the Senate. If you're really concerned, write to your Senator.

Why shouldn’t they? They give him every other thing he wants. And a hell of a lot he don’t want.
I think the Alarm Alarm conclusions here are a bit overreaching.

Cruz has a bill pending in the Senate that removes/revokes the American citizenship of a person who is actually overseas with the terrorists. That prevents the person from returning to this country. The bill makes sense, having proof the person is actually over there fighting with the terrorists.
Allowing Obama to revoke any person's passport who is still in this country, is another Obamanation (I just added that word to “dictionary” so it won't see it as a misspelled word).
Will our country be alive in any way by January, 2017, when he has to leave office? He has taken so many actions that are unconstitutional, will he find a way to stay in office? I know, there is no way he can stay in office but how many times did we say, he couldn't do “x”, then he did it? He has done it so many times, I am not positive he will leave office.
This one person, Obama, has destroyed so much of this country, I don't know if we can recover. One man has caused so much destruction of our freedoms - who would have thought if you don't buy an insurance policy, Obama will fine you and keep fining you more every year - does he continue to fine you more and do nothing about it or does he garnish/take/steal whatever wages you make, or will he throw you in jail/prison for the rest of your life?
Our very existence in our homes is threatened by his new rules he has written almost every day since he has been in office.
One man destroyed us. We could have been saved had he been impeached and removed from office. Delusion has come over the House and Senate and Supreme Court in order for Obama to do this - I think, at this point, it has to be a God thing bring on the Last Days and I think they have started. Since I believe that, I pray all the time to be removed from this earth (yes, the Rapture) before the great day of God's wrath.
I hope we make it past September/October without economic disaster plus other possibilities perhaps happening before the end of the year.
I have rambled somewhat in this post and that is because we are in a huge mess with no definitive actions we can take except prepare our households to be able to live for a long time - months/maybe a year(s) without any public utilities or any shopping. Pray to God for survival.
