Here’s Cruz on his request, such as it is.
May 14, 2013
WASHINGTON, DC U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) today presented an amendment to the
Gang of Eight immigration bill that would improve our nations legal immigration system
by increasing high-skilled temporary worker visas, called H-1B visas, by 500 percent. The measure
would effectively address the needs of our nations high-skilled workforce by helping
meet the growing demand for workers in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics
(STEM) fields. It will also make block grants available to states to promote STEM education
efforts and increase domestic STEM professionals. The committee voted against the amendment
4 to 14 with every Democrat voting against it on a party-line vote.

Which puts Ted squarely behind one more group that replaces U. S. Citizen workers. It increases the presence of newly arrived non-loyal from birth people into highly sensitive fields in our R&D community.
Oh yes, Ted is specific. There’s no doubt at all what he’s up to.
H1-Bs were always designed to do just this. It was to bring in talent from overseas. Sadly, we have seen exactly how they have been exploited to displace U. S. Citizens in the work environment.
Ted doesn’t know this?
I like Ted, but this is a terrible thing to advocate for.
Sound awfully lofty, until you read what it winds up doing.
We have very well qualified people laid off from the technical sector, and the companies claim they just can’t cut it with new technology. Well, they were just cutting it until weeks or months before.
So H1-Bs are brought in, and we pay out unemployment for our workers who at worst simply needed some short retraining or apprentice-ships.
