Donald Trump says as president he would ultimately give some illegal immigrants legal status and isn't ruling out a pathway to citizenship, CNN reports.
That sounds different than what he said during his June 16 announcement speech when critics say he insulted Mexicans.
"When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best. … They're sending people that have lots of problems," he said then. "They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."
Those who are not committing crimes could find legal status under a Trump administration, he told CNN's Dana Bash in comments aired Wednesday on CNN's "The Situation Room."
"It depends," Trump told Bash. "Look, it sound cold, and it sounds hard. … Our country is going to hell. We have to have a system where people are legally in our country."
While Mexico makes it hard for immigrants to enter, Trump said, "With us they walk across, … immediately they're members, call them members of our country. It's not right. "
One of Trump's GOP rivals, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, appeared immediately afterward, saying Trump's comments sound a lot like amnesty.

But also, WELFARE v non-welfare distinction.
No immigrant whether illegal, legal or naturalized citizen should be eligible for WELFARE .. and should be prosecuted for perjury and kicked out for even applying for welfare.

So if 1 million are criminals and 19 million are not, then Trump is for amnesty for 19 million illegals.

As for the balance of illegals here, we'll address that AFTER the stinking rapists and murderers are eating Mexican dirt.
He explained his plan on Hannity last week.
Step 1 would be to secure the border first. He was insistent on that.
Step 2 would be to toss out all the criminals and other bad actors.
Step 3 would be to allow any illegals who can prove that they are productive and self supporting, a path to legal status. But in order to become legal, they would have to leave first and then apply.

This I say without being certain of where Trump will finally come down on Immigration.
What I am certain of is it is Trump who moved the presidential election debate to illegal immigration, sanctuary cities, illegal alien crime, the Mexican government sponsorship of invasion by immigration.... All are center stage because of Trump and his courage not to back down after the media & RINOs attacked when he first raised the issue!

Bull. Ted Cruz has been speaking the truth from the beginning, all the way back to his days as Solicitor General of Texas.
Apparently he will let back in only those who meet the conditions already in our laws. He wants the laws enforced that are already there to stem the tide. But for those who do meet those conditions he wants the process expedited...that does not mean go to the front of the line...that means those in the front will also move faster along.
Much of todays news is already being written by computer software who needs cheap labor anymore.

They go back and apply....that is my understanding. Currently they cannot come back for ten years according to the law. I have no problem with that time frame.
Go watch Trump’s appearance on Morning Joe last week. He clearly said “expedited”—which means speeded up. Which means front of the line.
You’re putting words in his mouth. Speeded up..yes..that does not mean they go to the head. Trump was clear he wanted those who ‘met our laws’ would ‘all’ be “expedited” more quickly. That it should not take so long to become a citizen...and he’s right. He also said the laws are the laws and these need to be enforced. So what aren’t you getting?
