Donald Trump has made a name for himself on the campaign trail for sharp invective and brash hyperbole.
But when he takes the debate stage next week, he has promised to play nice with his fellow Republican 2016 presidential candidates.
I look forward to the debate on Thursday night & it is certainly my intention to be very nice & highly respectful of the other candidates, the billionaire real estate mogul tweeted Thursday.
In the meantime, the final few spots are still up for grabs and other candidates are scrambling to make headlines to gain enough ground to take the stage.

True, but the debate will be where he will need to use his cunning and deal-making prowess to woo the voters. If he burns everyone on stage, he’ll only look like a bully.
I agree. And he needs to keep it simple. Get America Moving Again.
"I am not going to exploit, for political purposes, my opponent's youth and inexperience"
Yep, old Fritz knew he had been had.
Very simple...Santorum & Newt split the more conservative voters. Cleared path for moderate from Massachusetts.
What conservative must face is the reality that there are not enough strong conservative voters out there to split voters, and 2 more conservative candidates can prevail over a single RINO candidate.
"Intention" was a favorite weasel word during the Clinton administration. Just because something was your intention when stated and then later you did the opposite, you were legalistically (the-meaning-of-is-is) not a liar when you said it.
What’s that saying about where good intentions lead to?
Why fix something when it isn't broken?

“... & it is certainly my INTENTION (emphasis mine) to be very nice & highly respectful of the other candidates,
Sounds like he’s given himself a lot of wiggle room with that statement (i.e ‘Hey, I INTENDED to be respectful of the other candidates, but when they started attacking me, did you think I was just going to roll over?”)
Your ear is as good as your spelling, then.
(No offense. Just can't resist an opening like that. :-)
Hey! I kerrecktid it.
Whassamattah you. Anyhow?!
