First of all, The Donald is no rock-ribbed, Midwestern corn-country-ethanol “conservative”, and in fact, has enthusiastically supported some pretty liberal positions. But he is also a pragmatic populist, if the two concepts may be tied together. Use what works, fire the rest, and find a substitute that will do the job even better when the first approach fails.
Sometimes people have failed The Donald, and his wrath can be scathing, but if something is working out at or above expectations for a delegated position, he supports it wholeheartedly. There have been times when The Donald has had to cut his losses, and studying those is much more instructive than trying to find only the best image to put on things.
Business schools are going to be studying the methods and strategies used by The Donald a century from now. Only Class A personalities need apply.
In that case, I guess we better let the GOP-wing of the Democrat party nominate another Bush for us.
