As a person who has spent all of his life attempting to do whatever was necessary to advance the progression of Black America towards Equal Opportunity, my greatest partner in this effort has been Jeb Bush.
While I have known and worked with every governor in this state over the past 50 years — Burns, Askew, Graham, Kirk, Chiles, Crist and others —my relationship with Jeb Bush has been unique and allowed me to truly know “The Man.”
I write this because I fear that many who look like me will do as I used to do before I met Jeb Bush — assume that if a candidate is Republican, they can’t be for me. Assume that the “R” automatically means “Racist,” and that no matter what they say, in the end they are against us.
I’m writing today to tell you: “Not this Republican.” This Republican is different.
When I met Jeb in 1995, I was surprised by “This Republican’s” genuine interest in learning about the unique challenges that were facing black Floridians and impressed by his humility and passion for making a difference — in the lives of all people. It wasn’t just about politics.

I presume that a “history of helping blacks, Hispanics achieve American Dream” equates to advocating bigger and bigger Big Government.
PUhleeeze. I understand the attempt and this author no doubt feels grateful for Bush, but, it’s not quite effective enough to sway any votes, IMHO

But Trump has done more.
I know of a guy that gave jobs to children.
He helped people move.
Ended a lot of misery.
Cleared a lot of land so people moving in could live in peace.
Hell of a nice guy. /s
We ended his helpful ways in WWII.
Wouldn’t vote for him.

However, Jeb is not conservative; he will be weak and will “work” with democrats who are destroying this Country.

Indeed. “Achievement” in the minority sense means that somebody, usually whitey pays. Whitey can’t get a leg up to achieve the “American Dream” himself but perhaps he can live vicariously through someone less qualified, less able, less hardworking, but more favored in an ethnic or racial sense.
Because ain’t nobody in the GOP or the Democrat Party gonna help whitey. Whitey is on his own.
So Jeb’s a different kind of Republican because he’s not racist.
