Cop was reaching in the car when the fellow took off.
Definitely presented a serious danger to the cop, don’t think it warranted deadly force though was a violent assault against an officer - so I guess I’m “unsure”.
Looks like an unfortunate but lawful shooting to me.
The issue these days is whether or not the officer put himself in the dangerous situation that led use of deadly force. In other words...I can’t walk and stand in front of a moving car, and then say I feared for my life and shoot the driver...
We have been training for years now to avoid “ creating our own need for deadly force”
