What does that have to do with the idiocy of Cohen's statement? Of course the so-called "rape allegations" were nonsense. That was obvious from the start (and if you look further up in the thread, you'll see that I've said so right here).
Which is all the more reason Cohen's statement was stupid. Not only was it false (a husband can most certainly rape his wife), but it was unnecessary, because Trump did not rape his wife, regardless of whether the law recognizes spousal rape. So, Cohen didn't even need to go there. But he did. And he was wrong.
