No one but Trump is “a party to this.” The prima donna pulled out of the debate because the newspaper, a long, longstanding stalwart of conservatism, criticized the recent Democrat-turned instant “conservative” blowhard. Now, he the billionaire wants a pity party because he’s not ready, willing, or able to debate.

It’s funny you say that, because I was thinking the same thing. As much as I agree with nearly everything Trump says, refusing to come against opponents, because he doesn’t like what the media said about him, is weakness IMO. How can I expect him to stand up for me when he is president and the media is on him ten-fold? I would prefer him say that he had a prior engagement and not that his feelings were hurt. If anything he should use this platform to defend himself and perhaps draw some NH votes... Doing this makes me think he is not in this to win it.

Yes and watch as their viewers are three time as many as the NH debate

Well you have a point...that still does not excuse the (vile hit piece/editorial), actually juvenile rhetoric...John McCain's time in Vietnam is not without some basis for Trump's remark, a book "Vetting John McCain" by Ted Sampley...and this footnote, bring the real McCain into a less foggy light: Editor’s note:
Much of the material on the internet and by “much” we mean 99% has been cleansed by a national intelligence agency and NOT an American one. Riddle me why? Riddle me who? Those who had gone after McCain, those who lack the right friends from the wrong side of the tracks are now dead, Boston Brakes, mysterious disease or paid or warned off.

McCain’s cleaners are more thorough than those who do the dirty work for either Romney or Bush and that’s saying a hell of a lot. In the interim, we would like to find a copy of Ted Sampley’s book.

I suspect Trump knows a little about this history.............

Two thoughts:

1. Trump gets a chance to preview the candidates' statements and prepares himself for the FNC debate.

Or

2. FNC somehow uses this as an excuse to keep Trump out of their debate, too.

Reconsider what? They can’t force Trump to come to their debate. The newspaper wrote a piece critical of Trump and because of that Trump is refusing to attend.

In real time, he should have his own podium on streaming media — Youtube or similar — and respond to every debate question as it’s asked.

I think John Anderson did something similar in 1980. I think he bought time on some UHF channels and did it that way. Of course, the technology was primitive at the time and it didn't work very well. In today's streaming world of audio/video, it could be done very cheaply and very effectively.
